Governments around the world need to reduce the number of ultra-wealthy people by adopting "billionaire-busting policies," Oxfam said in a Monday report. The UK-based group of non-profits said in the report the richest people have grabbed nearly two-thirds of $42 trillion in new wealth created since 2020 — when the COVID-19 pandemic started. That's twice as much as what the rest of the 99% managed to amass in new wealth, Oxfam said citing Credit Suisse data. As a reflection of this growing wealth disparity, at least 1.7 billion workers are living in countries where inflation is outpacing wages, according to Oxfam's analysis of data from Eurostat, Trading Economics and consultancy Korn Ferry. Oxfam is now advocating to halve the wealth and number of billionaires between now and 2030 through taxation and other moves in order to get to a "fairer, more rational distribution of the world's wealth." It's also seeking a permanent increase in the taxes of the richest to at least 60% of their income — in particular, Oxfam is calling on governments to raise taxes on capital gain. "We need to do this for innovation. For stronger public services. For happier and healthier societies. And to tackle the climate crisis, by investing in the solutions that counter the insane emissions of the very richest," Gabriela Bucher, the executive director of Oxfam International, said in the report. Just four cents of every tax dollar come from wealth taxes, according to Oxfam's analysis based on data from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. I just read that neither George Soros or Klaus Schwab are going to go to the WEF meeting in Davos this year. Neither one actually gave a real reason, just a scheduling problem. Since they have known about the meeting all of this time, it does not seem likely that they scheduled something else for this time period; so something else must be happening.
Or maybe they feel the WEF represents their interests so well already they don’t need to attend and instead are off sowing their seeds of disruption elsewhere.
I think they're aware that the mainstream press, embarrassed by the honest alt press, is becoming partially independent of the cabal (or acting like they are) and that their probing questions can't be fully avoided. That could be one factor among others. I always suspect that any such seeming progress is just part of the script. Rural areas are part of the problem, they hire these illegal worker's because they don't want to pay Americans a living wage, people who come here legally to work then go back home is one thing, but most come get on welfare bring in family and never leave. They have organizations like The Catholic Church, La Raza, Mencha, and Univision that hire big lawyers and their allies to get them into low-income housing, childcare and all benefits. Antyone who denies this doesn't know what they are talking about. At the town square meeting I had one man act like he was going to hit me. Some of the other people were attacked at red lights, sto0p signs and beat. And of course, the 'race card ' was used against us continually. Want a sovereign nation with borders and your culture to remain a republic not socialist then you're a racist. Of course, all that was for nothing because if you stand up you stand alone. Even worse become the enemy of your own people, unlike those who come keep their culture, speak their language, and familia aka family heritage, The only people who drove by and waved in support were black, the WOKE self-loathing whites yelled out slurs, gave us the finger. Don't get me on truck drivers who complained about all the trucks coming in from Mexico taking their jobs or causing wrecks when their non inspected tires blew up in front of them. Right on the money (pun intended). Not much actual planning is going to go on at these celebrity meetups. Instead it's a place for glad-handing and mutual support among our favorite psychopaths.
Dwight I can see its time for me to either take another break or control my emotions and shut the hell up, probably the latter. I am too much time on my hands and need to go take out my frustrations in the woods, making more trails.
I know the feeling. Everybody needs a break from the end of the world* happening before our eyes. I go outside and find a chore in the yard with some heavy lifting or watch a silly monster movie or visit one of the lost pet websites. *could go either way - disaster for us all or a better world.
It might be that the WEF is on the brink of collapse. They engineered the isolation of Russia because Russia didn't cooperate with the designs of the WEF, but that simply pushed Russia into the arms of China, supplying the PRC with everything they need to dominate the world. When India and Brazil join the group, as has already happened, the group formed has challenged the relevance of the Davos group. We might be back into an "Us vs. Them" world as it was during the cold war...unless it turns hot.
It could go so many ways - the worst scenarios being world domination by the Han Chinese or by the EU-based WEF crowd. Myself, I'd be perfectly comfortable in a world where The U.S. didn't run the show - a multipolar world, as they're calling it. Any step away from hegemony and oligarchy is a good step. If we were just an equal among equals maybe we'd be forced into somewhat better behavior towards our neighbors.
