I don't like beets either, but that's no reason for beet-eaters to be angry with me.

I like beets but they’re chiefly grown in N. Dakota and Minnesota which are two states I would prefer not to live. Maybe I shouldn’t like beets because of my dislike for those two states.

Eating beets beats not eating beets.

I think beets can be grown almost anywhere, @Bobby Cole. The upper Midwest is where the sugar beets are grown, however.

I always liked living in apartments. As long as the area/neighborhood was ok and neighbors ok, which was the case everywhere I lived before a few years ago.

However, two concerns (worries) have come up that caused me to change my mind about living in apartments.
First, until a few years ago I was unaware that landlords can make tenants move out and don't even need a reason for it (as long as tenant isn't currently on a lease and landlord gives period of time notice).
Second, I lived in an apartment complex for many years without any rent increases, and when there eventually were increases they weren't extreme- like $10 or $15. But I've found in some places there are no limits to the amounts landlords can increase the rent. I'm very worried for family members in a different area, as well as myself.
What both come down to is there's no sense of security. Either a rent increase or move-out notice could result in becoming homeless.

I wouldn't want to live in an apt for same reasons, I'm too hyper to live in an apt plus we have dogs and chickens. But it is lonely in the woods.

The only time I’ve “lived” in an apartment is when we used to go to Queensland each winter for a month
there was always allot of door slamming due to most high rises in that part of QLD having fire doors that are fairly heavy.
We liked to stay in the same place year after year but some times it was booked out by the owners so we had to stay else where and some places were very noisy the floor above it sounded like they were moving furniture all night

This is the areas in Queensland where we always stayed in apartments.

This photo shows the Queensland / New South Wales border …if you look at roads you will notice the painted pedestrian crossings ( That’s the Queensland side of the street )

Notice the blank road with no painted crossing that’s NSW side ….we always the found it an odd / different border compared to other states in Aust

since 2004 we lived in apartment by choice. When we moved last month out of state to this 105 year old two story house, I have decided I like this better in many ways. Each one has its pros and cons, just depends on what your looking for. :)

I'm so glad you are loving your new home, G.!! You'll have to tell us all about it, and how you are adjusting to small town life.
