Time to make another trail and cut vines while doing so. Making trials helps me fight anxiety aka depression. Keeps my lungs cleaner.
Jake has to work on vehicles so I'll brin g my walkie talkie aka 2-way radio, ' whatever it's called' so I can call Jake if I need him. Will also bring dogs on lease.

I found coyote tracks around my barn yesterday. Don't always take my gun when I should. I dont' suppose coyotes aren't a problem in Fla.

I did another fall, but at least it was in slow motion, vines let me down easy as they broke or let loose. I do have a superficial cut on my forearm. peeled the skin back . I'm taking a short break and Jake is using weed eater. I piled up more brush to take to the pasture to burn one day.

Coyotees haven't been a problem here for a couple years now too many people moving in cutting down forest. I miss the wildlife ,its just about all gone ,haven't even seen a deer since the poor deer Jake had to put down ,but he did put meat in freezer.

Mary what farm animals do you have?

Thanks Mary, Jake got a picture of it, he'll put it up later. Jake will help me now because he wants to get to that old well in the woods. I was wondering why he was so glad to help. Jake doesn't like vines or making trials.:D

Been taking a break for last hour and Jake helped me today and took pic's to send to kids, they like to know what we are doing. He is putting them up on his ' Thinking Things Would slow down After Retirement' thread.
Old dog Molly loves to watch us work in the woods.

I worry most about my chickens being killed by wildlife here but I guess my sheep and barn cat would also be in danger. Our meat rabbits are indoors. I don't have any cattle or horses at the moment.

Mary having farm animals these days is hard, the wildlife doesn't have the habitat they use to have plus the forest have changed like everything else, it's still a good life just a little more challenging. Being old has its drawbacks too, my balance ain't what it use to be.

Oh my goodness, I hope you didn't get hurt, Marie. You and Jake make me tired with all you do.

Thanks for the concern but no Beth I went down in slow motion thanks to the vines slowly letting go as I went down, Jake said I went down faster than I think I did. But either way not hurt, I fell in one of my piles of vines and brush, it cushioned the fall.
Staying busy and out of the house is the only thing that keeps me going.

Now Jake is wanting to get in the woods and make a trail to that old well., he will be cutting vines and small trees. And I will have a new trail to walk on.
Onlt he can use a pole saw and get it done faster and weed eater lawnmower, none of which I use or operate.

Its just 12 areas but part of it given up for road use, we have a corner lot so we lose even more.
Beth I try to keep as much as I can forest for the wildlife, poor things are running out of habitat. I'm no tree hugger for sure but I do care about the wildlife. When we moved in only 2 others lived here, but now it's close to a hundred and they clear their land tracts.
We put a good dent in the path this afternoon so its coming along real good now that Jake helps with mechanical tools.I'll take pictures soon.
