We had the air fryer butternut squash and fish filets again. It is so delicious and so simple to make.

My Land Jesus came this afternoon and I paid my rent and she gave me a big bowl of vegetable soup. I was busy eating already but after my nap I got up and ate half that soup. It was a very good day, I slept so well because the weather outside is gray and rainy looking. My cats were all on the bed, one on the outside and under the blanket with me really snuggling up. The other two like to sleep on the opposite corner near the radiators. Lots of rain in the forecast starting tonight and into Monday. Lower temperatures again so in other words great for hot vegetable soup and warm blankets. My long time neighbor who lived across the little long drive from me had sold his place and is getting paid weekly. He has been living down the street with his friends but they booted him out today. No one wants him around because he is an alcoholic and very rude. I told him if he needed he could sleep in my Truck because at least he would be out of the rain. He has a good sleeping bag so he can still stay warm. I went out and took things our of the front seat so he could stretch out. I have had two rear brake drums for my Truck sitting on the right side of the seat for over a year. They weight in about 60 pounds each and I was glad to finally get them inside the house so they won't rust before I ever build up enough nerve to go out and install them. I do things like that now and the radiator that is in my Truck sat in the front room for 4 years before I installed it. Anyway the guy does have a son living down the street and he was going to go ask him if he could stay there but he may not. I don't care if he sleeps in the Truck. The thing is the guy spends the money he receives each week on booze. Now he has no home of his own. I told him he made a very big mistake when he sold his place it was paid for and looked nice. I'm sure he'll make it. I was kidding with him and I told him he was welcome to sleep in the Truck but just don't get it dirty. :D like it is new and shiny, it is 42 years old.

On topic: I had the second half of that curry chicken soup and a salad for dinner.

Off topic: I was bemoaning my shoddy housekeeping skills, and a friend told me of a guy here who owned his own house but had some maintenance issue with it, and spent the last few years of his life sleeping in his car in the driveway. He even did this during the winter, where we get down to single digit temps.

Years ago I worked with a guy who was from Massachusetts, and who was a hitch-hiking snowbird. Kevin would thumb his way down to Florida for the winter, and thumb his way back to Massachusetts for the summer. He worked with me in Virginia somewhere in between there and crashed at my place for a bit.

You sort of admire the apparent freedom and are aghast at the lack of responsibility, all at the same time.

Tying it all together: I have no idea how some of these people can live, having no idea where their next supper's coming from.

It's cold and dreary today, so we'll have some kind of soup. Maybe chicken noodle with leftover rotisserie chicken or some of that curry soup from Kroger.

Tonight's repast will be creamy lemon chick breasts and green bean casserole if I can find all the ingredients. If not, then chicken and noodles. .

@Beth Gallagher @Hedi Mitchell Looks like canned chili for me since it is also cold and damp here and my green chili enchilada soup won't be ready till tomorrow due to my smaller crock pot going on the fritz and I didn't realize it until now. I have my heat pad on my neck as I type.

I'm having roast turkey slices, with jacket potato, roast potatoes, mixed veg and gravy. I'm doing a full tray of roast potatoes so we can have them tomorrow, I love them the next day (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

I have to admit that potatoes are one of my favorite foods. So many ways to prepare them and all good. I even like raw potatoes, just a little bit of salt and pepper.
