A friend of mine has a police scanner and has noted a goodly increase in crime over the last decade. But lately, I have been very proud of our police/sheriff departments and citizens. We have had two police die in performance of duty. But about a year ago, a couple guys tried a crash and grab in a local department store ala California. They were subdued by three guys shopping in the store. We still have football in high schools.
We had a high speed chase through a couple of townships and the sheriffs got the driver but I believe he was killed.
We are on a corridor from Chicago to Green Bay and drugs follow. That definitely increases our jail population.

It's appearing that crime in some cities, that didn't have that much crime before, is definitely increasing. We know Denver can have, actually not "can", but does, have each share of crime, but now seeing a lot of crime happening in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Longmont which isn't that far south of us. None of these cities use to have that much crime when we lived in Colorado before, but.........that was then and now is now.

a couple wacky kids i happen to know from in town... she was supposed to drive him 3 blocks but ended up in a whole other town altogether, then he offered his pipe for the deputy to hit when they woke him up from his stupor. it was just another cold night in wisconsin.

Female driver who 'was completely naked' among 3 weekend OWI arrests in Washington County

"Washington County sheriff's officials on Monday, April 27 announced three weekend OWI arrest -- including one female driver who "was completely naked."

Sheriff's officials said around 2 a.m. Saturday, April 25, a deputy on patrol noticed a vehicle traveling 30 miles per hour under the speed limit, headed southbound on I-41 in the Town of Addison. The vehicle was stopped after the driver drove in and out of the ditch, and then began traveling down the middle of the interstate.

When the deputy made contact with the vehicle, sheriff's officials said the 29-year-old driver was naked, and the male passenger was "slouched down" in the front passenger seat. When they were ordered to show their hands, officials sad the passenger was holding a marijuana pipe.

Both appeared to be under the influence of alcohol/drugs, officials said.

The driver told investigators she was giving the male passenger a ride home, and "had not thought to put clothes on," further indicating she was doing this for "the thrill of it." She said she left her Juneau home en route for the male's Juneau home, but was not sure where she was when she was stopped.

Sheriff's officials noted the deputy was able to find a sweatshirt for the driver to wear while field sobriety tests were performed. She was arrested for OWI. The passenger was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia."

Liberalism is creeping into our county but we still managed to re-elect one of the best and toughest sheriffs in the country, Chuck Jenkins. Things would be very different here without him. Frederick, MD is about 40 miles west of both Baltimore and DC at the intersection of I-70 and I-270. He has been very active in controlling gang infiltration as well as working closely with ICE on illegal immigration.

But I've gotta say it must be better than the small city I recently moved out of, that had its third murder of this year already, and it's only halfway through the first month of the year...

Virginia has a couple of Soros-sponsored commonwealth attorneys who continue to put out lists of crimes they are not gonna prosecute. Our state AG might try to do something about it. I'm not certain where the boundaries are drawn regarding authority to intervene.

Buta Biberaj. Soros threw nearly $1,000,000 at that race.

Had a drive-by shooting at an apartment complex close to the downtown area in our city. A young person shot/killed and another shot, but didn't die. A picture of the truck involved is on Facebook. Many people in Loveland feared this kind of thing was going to happen sooner or later...............and it has. Some very serious crime is now happening here that never happened before. Loveland has had numerous shoplifting crimes, DUI's, meth overdoses, but no "drive-by" shootings.

Some people here will be shaken up by this, while others simply won't care. As for us, it bothers us, but then again, we are leaving next summer, so.............

Our crime safety index is around 95%, meaning it is safer than 95% of other cities in the U.S. The violent crime rate is about .0.45 per 1,000 residents.
