Yesterday was a little breezy, but not real bad...I was out stacking a load of firewood I just bought. It looks like winds are gonna hit 15 MPH as it blows out of here tonight. I guess the storm lost all its energy during its terrestrial trip here.
It didn't hit 40°F today, and tonight's low of 34°F is gonna be tomorrow's high...then the temps drop to 13°F tomorrow night. I gotta bring some wood to the front porch, and the wind chills are gonna start out in the 20s and drop to the teens. I'm glad I bought another 2 cords last week.
Then there is this, which contradicts the other. It is already Friday, 1:30 am and it's not particularly cold out and there it's not snowing yet. Wait a second - "Total snow accumulations up to once inch." What kind of blizzard is that?
Gee, now I feel better about how folks would freak out in the DC area when we got flurries. Et tu, pine tree state?
Blizzards, especially the ground blizzard mentioned, usually refer to the low visibility produced by the blowing snow if I remember correctly.
Temps in the 20s F. here, and it was snowing when we got home last night. They received about 4 inches of new snow while we were gone, but warmer temperatures probably melted more than that. My new snowblower is supposed to arrive today or tomorrow.
It’s colder than a cast iron toilet on the shady side of an iceberg and windier than half a hurricane or an arena full of progressive politicians.
Yeah, but without snow coming down, I couldn't picture that occurring because it's been so cold lately that the ground snow is frozen solid. We don't have any loose snow. I can walk over the snow in my backyard without sinking. And yeah, it was windy last night but no blizzard and no noticeable additional snow. It's mighty cold, however.
Of course it is! that explains the spring weather in our forecasts. After the below zero stuff lately, it will be warming maybe to 40 next week. Again. We are so confused.
It is 40 F here with overcast. This is the warmest day so far in 2023. Citing sources: The Weather Channel and my own backyard thermometer and eyesight.
The blizzard never came about but probably would have if all of our snow hadn't been so tightly frozen to the ground. It is very cold and windy here.
