Nope... not a one.. I have interests. Things that I like to learn about. Things I don't mind doing, but nothing that I would consider a bonafide hobby. Since I have only just recently retired, I suppose it's time to get one or two.. I'm trying to decide... so far nothing jumps up and grabs me. AND it's a lot of pressure.. trying to find one so I can say I have one.. To heck with it.
I like that... But I was talking more about some sort of craft.. or activity.. I am not in the least bit Artsy Craftsy... Or not into sports or other outdoor things.. But I've always grown things and really enjoyed it... so I guess that is somewhat of a hobby. Even if it is a bit seasonal.
@Carol Cook, just a suggestion for you. Walk around in a craft store or garden center to see what sparks your interests even if it's just a hint before you talk yourself out of it.
Don't try too hard too find something. As Von said, expose yourself to ideas and the right one will jump out at you.
What about something to do with one of these interests...? Animals, Cooking, Politics, Fitness, History, Psychology
As I said.. there are things that interest me.. and things I do... but I really don't consider them hobbies... To me a hobby is building something, making something.. creating something.. I don't to any of that.. Well maybe cooking is making something, but it's necessary for survival.. I don't do it for the joy of it.. like painting, sewing, designing and building furniture, etc.. I'm not really that creative.
True about the animals and cooking...and maybe fitness... But Politics, history and psychology are not my thing.. Not sure where you got that idea.
Oh absolutely.... Yes... I could look into other things.. Never to late to gain new interests I always say...
You could take up the hobby of couch sitting and TV watching. I personally test various alcoholic beverages and report my findings to my dog. I call that a "hobby".
Or maybe playing on the computer. Now that you mention it, I don't have a real hobby, either. I have always wanted to be able to paint so maybe I'll take some painting lessons. I knew a little Mexican lady who never had a painting lesson and could paint beautiful pictures. She said she just picked up some brushes one day and started.
@Carol Cook : Have you ever bowled for recreation? It can become just as important to one as a hobby, and if the physical activity is allowable, good exercise, too!
