I know it is hard, but they have invested years of their lives in training, and you are paying them for the knowledge they have acquired. If you don't wish to follow their advice, most would rather you go somewhere else. The better ones will try to see what you want from them and try to provide it. The drug companies now own the medical training process, and that is why things are as they are: We'll put you on a statin then try to discover what other drugs you might need to make you feel better and (perhaps) live longer.

The problem is finding the better doctors. They are far and few in between.:(

We have been lucky that way, maybe because we live where we do. This is a biomedical heavy weight area (near Baltimore/DC metro area). Our family physician is great, couldn’t ask for anything better. My wife’s breast cancer surgeon, radiation oncologist, medical oncologist, were all absolutely top notch.

I have two friends who are doctors and they even make house calls if I ask. I use them for diagnosis and not for treatment as they have the ability of sending stuff like blood to be tested. Once they give me their opinion [diagnosis] I then find the cure. I have had the doctors send patents to me for minerals they can not prescribe because it is not listed in their medical books. I get along great with them knowing they are bond by the medical system to treat in a certain way or lose their license. It is a shame it has to be this way. When I was young and visit my doctor he would go into the back room and bring out a mixture he made up also handing a prescription to my mother for more of the same.
