My best friend of over sixteen years passed away last night. He spent the night pressed up against me in bed. When I woke up this morning he was gone. I don't think he was in pain. I'll bury him in the back yard with a marker and invite a couple of friends who loved him to be there. I'm taking a couple of days off from SOC.
I am so sorry to hear that you have lost your beloved kitty-cat, @Dwight Ward , and glad that he went peacefully in his sleep. I think that is much preferable to having to take a suffering pet to the vet to be put to sleep. Sending you a hug and prayers for God to send you angels in your grief.
Aw, so sorry to hear this, Dwight. It's heartbreaking to say goodbye to a beloved pet. May you take comfort in knowing that you gave Barney the best life possible for 16 years, in a loving home. RIP, sweet boy.
Dwight, I'm so sorry about Barney. Losing a pet is the hardest thing, but their pawprints live on our hearts forever. Take care.
I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts. Barney was a blessing for which I'm thankful. It's always been a very hard part of life for me to understand - that we must all lose everything and everyone we love eventually. I'm going to have a few things to say to God about that and some other things.
That is always a hard time to have to go through. It comforts me to believe that my beloved animal family has gone to a better place and is in Heaven waiting for me to get there and see them again. Barney will probably visit you at night in your dreams, like my Chipper does with me, @Dwight Ward .
So sorry to hear this. I know how much it hurts. We lost our almost 15 year old male Maine Coon just over a month ago. It just crushes you. RIP to your little fur buddy.
The only pet I ever cried over was a cat. A beautiful snow white cat with emerald green eyes. You have my deepest sympathy, @Dwight Ward .
