Just to clarify Thomas. Is this a single 13 letter word or a double 6 and 7 letter word.

Debriefing because it was a first:
1) We should agree on the number of letters a player can suggest. Since we're a small bunch I'd be in favour of two or three letters. What do you think?
2) To speed things up it might be useful to start with the vowels. In the case of coffee plunger it would've been helpful, too.
3) A common rule may apply here, too: The one who guesses it should come up with the next one. @Craig Wilson
4) Guessing the word should always be possible at any stage (or not?)

What do the other players think?

(PS: Have you ever used such a device? My automatic coffee maker packed up the other day and I had to use a coffee plunger or French press until the new one arrived.)

Never used one. Wife uses a coffee percolator sometimes.
I say two letters for long words (10 or above), one for shorter. I think leave the type of letter to the player. Dont wanna clutter the game with too many rules.

We used to have a similar game called guess the song title ….or Food item ……..

.it MAY BE more popular than just guessing a word.
