Yes, they taste better than they smell, although I must say that when I was smoking and tried American cigarettes, they were nasty...really strong and harsh. Smokers usually find one brand they like and stick with it. I enjoyed menthol flavored. Nice and smooth when drawing in the smoke.
I remember what my parents smoked they were called Capstan ( I live in Australia) And for some unknown reason I’m the only one of 8 kids ( the eldest ) who never smoked …..or never even tried one @Jaspurr Miller
Even though my husband still smokes cigarettes I was able to quit using a vape pen. Whenever I was having a nicotine fit, I'd take a few puffs on the vape pen. That was enough nicotine to soothe the urge for a cigarette. And yes, I know all about the dire warnings about vaping, but it's a good way to get off cigarettes which is way worse than vaping. You can then reduce the amount of the nicotine in the vape liquid until you get to zero percent and throw it all away.
Good for you, Jane! I posted earlier in this thread about my switch to vaping. It has worked as a smoking cessation method for millions of people world-wide. Yes, there are warnings about vaping, but most of the demonizing comes from the tobacco companies and Big Pharma, who are losing tons of money from decreased tobacco sales. The so-called "dangers" of vaping are also exaggerated in order to discourage kids from taking it up. I certainly agree that young people shouldn't start vaping, but let's face it...if they want to try it, they'll get their hands on it, just like tobacco, alcohol and weed. I did when I was a teenager. If I were a parent, I'd much rather have my kid try vaping than get addicted to other, more dangerous substances.
There are reports of children as young as 5 years old vaping either at home ( irresponsible parent (S) ) or at school in Australia , there was even a news story on apple of a mother giving a 12 month old a Vape but how many children “ smoke” either cigarettes or drugs anyway simply by parents ..smoking in the home @Jane Carlson
Sadly, there are always going to be irresponsible parents who are afraid to say no to their teens and allow them to vape, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and do weed. Some parents justify their lack of discipline by saying they'd rather have their kids do these things at home vs on the streets. The ones who are allowing very small children to vape should be reported to children's services.
I believe some are reported to children’s services …..trouble is they are so over run with various neglect cases some cases just get put on the back burner @Jaspurr Miller I personally know 2 women who are managers of children’s services in Adelaide and they work 7 days a week. Here is the story of the 10 month old vaping https://apple.news/AD0KtSPSnRymLtndilOqU9w
To me, they don't have any particular taste or smell. Even when I was a non-smoker, the cigarette smell didn't bother me.
I repeat, before I was a smoker I never noticed any particular odor. Nor did I mind people smoking in my car.
I knew a woman who smoked about 20 a day, she wanted to quit and she did by increasing her vitamin c, apparently vitamin c flushes out nicotine from your system, and it worked for her, it wasn't easy but she stuck with it and swapped cigs for oranges and tangerines, she's not smoked for over 20 years now.
My kombucha book says that drinking kombucha will do that as well, it is full of all kinds of vitamins and minerals and lots of B+ vitamins from the SCOBY activity. I know that when I drink mine, it seems to satisfy something deep inside of me like my body needed it and I didn’t even know it.
I didn't like the smell of cigarette tobacco even while I was a smoker, and I don't like it now. Some pipe tobaccos have a pleasant smell, however.
