Perhaps a little exercise, even if it's only going for short walks. Of course, the times you need it most are the times it's difficult.

I edited your title to spell out Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so folks here would be clear on what this topic is, and so it will come up on web searches. I'll change it back if I overstepped.

It doesn't help that every word is capitalized in Titles, so you can't do CFS...it displays as Cfs.

I can certainly speak on sleep habits. I was waking up at 3 am since the last time change. I won't even get into how it affected my sleep habits throughout the day... but guess what!? I woke up at 5 am this morning, yeah!!!! That's what time I usually began my day. Let's hope it continues.

I guess if I felt the need throughout the day to sleep after waking up at 3 am could be considered 'fatigued.' It was really weird and totally screwed up my daily routine and my 'me' time. I can't give any advise except to do as I did and 'go with the flow.'

I wish I had an answer. I’d apply it to myself. I NEVER (well, maybe once every 6 months) wake up feeling refreshed, even with a full night’s sleep. My doc suggested I get a sleep study but the only way I could get one that my insurance would cover is with a hospital conducted one that requires an overnight stay. Not interested in that so never had it done.

I'm afraid it's age. You've never experienced it before so it's hard to identify. Gotta bite the bullet. You (we) are getting old. Just do what you always did only slower. I sit a spell anymore doing strenuous activity for a minute or two to recharge.

It seems like every time someone complains to the doctor about having issues with; lack of energy, insomnia, tiredness, snoring, brain fog, or whatever, it seems like they want to do a sleep study. Every person that I know that has had a sleep study ends up on a CPAP machine.

My daughter is the only person to have a sleep study who didn't end up on CPAP. Several members of her family did, however. As we age, our melatonin production falls. Sometimes a melatonin supplement helps reset your body clock, or, if you want something else, try a "SAD" light, sometimes called a "HappyLight" @Jayce Gray
