I have read that only about 20% of the addiction is due to nicotine. (?????) They said that the remainder is due to force of habit. Whether this is true, I have no idea.
Actually, rationing your smokes for the day is not a bad tactic. Make that many available and try to end the day with some left over. Then the next day allot yourself less than you smoked the day before. If you only decrease by one per day, you are down to zero in a month. Heck, you already cut back 15%! That's a healthy dent. I still vote for getting gum and chewing it when you got the urge to light up. I'm just trying to think of a flavor that is most likely to make any subsequent cigarette taste bad...but at least chewing a stick might help you defer lighting up that cigarette and buy you time for the urge to subside.
Yes, but my tactic is not that aggressive. I am working on a WEEKLY plan with the idea of if I push too far too fast, I'll fail. Each week I push the time between cigarettes back a minute or two. Some days I don't feel the need quite as much, and hence I smoke less.
Well done! (•‿•) The price of cigs has gone up here to nearly £15.00 for a pack of 20. That alone would make me want to quit if I was a smoker.
Today is, by far, the worst day yet. Am feeling jumpy, irritable, restless and an inability to concentrate. Difficult to concentrate on cooking simple meals.
My My gosh!! Well when you've packed in you'll still be saving money, now is the time to plan on what you'll spend it on (•‿•)
Sounds HORRID....I'm thanking mom and dad for NOT smoking ever...I believe that is where a huge smoking habit starts. My poor son in law missed so much, kids graduating high schools and colleges.....he lost his life to these cancer sticks at 55....
