If the vaccine works, then vaccinated children have nothing to fear from unvaccinated children, and if I had a young child, I wouldn't want my child to be part of your "herd."
I think that is the problem, there are a much larger number of unvaccinated children since the MMR scare, a proportion of these have weak immune systems so more will possibly die, pro rata.
Yes... there are times when it's definitely needed. My personal quirks would never stand in the way of taking prescription medication for a serious illness. Most of my problem is with the "vanity" meds that are for something that isn't an illness, but can cause side effects that are a whole lot worse than what the original complaint was. Something like (I'm embellishing to state my case here) "Have an ingrown nail? Take our NailAway and be free of it! May cause loss of hair, vision, and side effects may include leukemia and in rare cases, death." I mean really! We've all heard those commercials... I'll keep the ingrown nail, methinks. But real medical needs, absolutely. I don't do natural... I've not seen any indication that homeopathic "cures" or herbs, etc. make a difference. I do realize that people *think* it makes a difference but I've not seen proof. I mean real proof. If I have an illness or disease, I sure don't want to chew on a cinnamon stick or parsley leaf because someone said it will work. OTC fakes... I agree there.... downright scary!
Ken I have to laugh at the suppression that is going on now. At one time you could type in a search and find what you are looking for but now the elite are putting a stop to that. For example at one time you could put in anti vaccine and find one or two pages of sites that dealt with that now try it and see what happens. The control of human thought and decision and keep them uninformed. Here is a few websites not shut down yet. http://www.naturalnews.com/053446_Robert_De_Niro_VAXXED_documentary_censorship_threats.html http://www.naturalnews.com/053469_vaccines_autism_FDA_documents.html http://healthimpactnews.com/2014/th...d-53000-paralysis-victims-in-india-last-year/ http://www.zengardner.com/1987-who-admits-its-smallpox-vaccine-caused-aids/
I have a doctor friend who is convinced along with some of his colleagues, that a proportion of prescription drugs actually do little, the biggest factor is the placebo effect, which has been proven to give better than a 50% cure rate. It explains why natural cures have a reasonable success rate at times. The odd thing is the placebo effect can sometimes still work when you know it's a placebo
A couple of those links give me a WOT warning of untrustworthiness, they are in my opinion sensationalist journalism or click bait.
But Martin, there are just as many website saying the opposite. Reputable websites, I might add... medical sites. Scholarly websites. Here are just a few. You may find some shocking and interesting tidbits in them... I did. I could find dozens more, but I have to attend a video convention in 5 minutes. Let me know if you want more tomorrow. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...e-anti-vaccine-movement-is-endangering-lives/ https://helix.northwestern.edu/article/anti-vaccine-movement-major-risk-public-health
I also looked up abortion laws regarding minors, it's not as you state, Ken. Most states require at least one parent knowing and or giving consent.
If vaccine is so good why does the government need to pay out damages done by them http://www.thedailysheeple.com/gove...o-vaccine-injured-americans-since-1989_022015 http://www.nvic.org/injury-compensation.aspx
Those are other dodgy sites, Martin. And you will have some people that will react badly to anything. Nothing is 100% safe. I have been vaccinated, everyone in my school was vaccinated, my kids also and my grandsons too. I have yet to hear of anyone getting sick from a vaccination. Here is a site that tells where to file I think if you had a bad reaction. Then there are sue happy people that will claim anything for money. http://www.hrsa.gov/vaccinecompensation/
When I was in grade school, most of the kids didn't get vaccinated. The school nurse (or maybe it was from the doctor's office) would send home letters with the kids which the parents had to fill out if they wanted their kids to get shots. Those kids would then be called out of the room while the rest of us waited, or just read our books until those kids came back. We did get the regular "kid's stuff" like measles and mumps, developed our immunity, and nothing was much of a problem. Pets didn't get vaccinations at all, and they didn't get sick either. Many of the children in America who actually came down with polio were ones who had been given a live virus by mistake, and after learning that, my mother (and most of the other mothers of my friends) didn't even consider giving us the polio vaccine. Most of the illnesses that kids are getting now are different strains of the virus then the vaccine gave them protection for. When you only develop immunity from the vaccine, it only works for that particular virus or bacteria; whereas a naturally developed immunity will protect you from other similar viruses as well. People who are coming into this country from other places in the world have been susceptable to different strains of bacteria and virus, and when they come here, they bring the new illness along with them. That is one of the main reasons that when the measles outbreak happened last year, the ones who were getting the measles were the kids who had been vaccincated, and not the ones who had developed natural immunity. Vaccines are cultured in chicken eggs, which can carry a multitude of bacteria and viruses, and all of that goes into the culturing vaccine, so that children can also be infected with some of the bacteria from the chicken egg. I think that the use of vaccines can be a good thing sometimes; but I do not think that it is good to be used as much as we use it now. Obviously, this is a controversial issue, and just like the use of natural healing vs. chemical drugs, we will all have our own ideas, belief and opinions. The good thing is that (at least so far) we are allowed to make our own choices based on what we believe is best. http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/Vaccines/Vaccines#toxic
I don't remember having a choice when my kids went to school. They had to have the required vaccinations before starting school and then in some later grades. I got the regular polio vaccine and then later the oral ones as I remember. My kids didn't get sick from the vaccines and I think I would be really guilty if I didn't allow the vaccine and something happened to them.
The measles vaccination programme has been a successful one though: Q: How common was measles in the United States before the vaccine? A: Before the measles vaccination program started in 1963, we estimate that about 3 to 4 million people got measles each year in the United States. Of those people, 400 to 500 died, 48,000 were hospitalized, and 4,000 developed encephalitis (brain swelling) from measles. Since 2000, when measles was declared eliminated from the U.S., the annual number of people reported to have measles ranged from a low of 37 people in 2004 to a high of 667 people in 2014.
That's why I approve of vaccinations. The odds are better. Sure you will have a few maybe die from a vaccine or have a bad reaction but it still saves many more lives than not.
