You're right, and from what I've seen, lots of them have had all kind of incidents happen with the law, and still nothing done; until they kill some people. The guy dressed like a woman who shot the people at that parade from a top a building had got into trouble a few times, and even posted things about killing people, and nothing happened until he shot a lot of people. It's crazy.

This is actually a LOT more than just some transgender person who was angry or confused. She had other places that she was also checking out, the police found information that she was specifically targeting a Christian school because of her beliefs. Next Saturday is the trans “day of Vengeance” nationwide, and more violence seems to be planned.
When you look back, most of the last shootings were perpetrated by gay or transgender people over the last year. No matter what, it is always conservatives who are blamed, even though no one from the NRA has ever been responsible for any of these mass attacks.

    Good morning to all-

Again, we're missing the point here. the point is, there are too many guns too easy for anyone to get.
    Fewer guns, fewer killings.

No civilian should have access to rapid fire military style weapons, and handguns should be severely limited in access to civilians.

And since the 2nd Amendment allows "right to bear arms" those arms should be limited to the arms of the time the amendment was written- single shot black powder muzzle loading long guns.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

So, this thread isn’t really about the kids and adults who were killed, but about your distaste for firearms.

    Here we go again.

The left has been saying that the Constitution is a fluid document and has to change with the times but yet is also saying that the 2nd amendment should apply to muzzle loaders and everything else should be illegal.

    Can’t have it both ways……..

If ALL the firearms were illegal in the U.S. but as long as somebody coming across the border has the ability to shoot me in the face with even something so small as a .22, I’ll keep something big enough to make a difference in the outcome.

No matter what our laws say, they do not apply to criminals.

    Fully agree.
In today’s social climate, I still cannot imagine a school, private or otherwise, that hasn’t taken steps to prevent such occurrences.
Lock the derned doors! Have some armed security people at the exits and roaming the halls.

Not speaking of anyone here in particular, but anti-gun leftists salivate whenever they hear of another shooting. It was clear enough from Biden's speech on the subject that this was one of his better days. Better than chocolate ice cream. If someone truly cared for the lives of children, they'd want to put something in place to protect them rather than eagerly anticipating another shooting (usually perpetrated by a loony leftist) so that they can hit the road for gun banning again.

As ensampled by their inability to allow some time for sorting things out, thinking about those who were killed and offering help to those who were affected by the shooting.
Allow some time to figure out what motivated the shooter and how to recognize the profiles of those who might do such harm.

Nope: Right out of the gate, it’s guns, guns, guns. AR-15’s are assault weapons and muzzle loaders only.

Note: A couple of pre-loaded muzzle loaders with buck would have the potential to take out half a class room.

These shootings are being carried out by societal misfits who know they're misfits and resent those who are not. They get even and take them down in what has become the fashionable way with guns. There ought to be a national help line that offers free psychological care for those who feel they don't fit in and need help and with no stigma attached.

THAT’S what I mean. Instead of concentrating on the methods used by the perpetrators, think about how to alleviate the situation altogether.

If all it took was to get guns off the table it would be one thing but someone who wants to kill others will find a way whether by a bomb, fire, knife or a stick.

    Good post Ed.

Some aspects of this shooting seem strange to me.
The shooter apparently wrote to friends , not saying exactly what she intended to do, but that she expected to die and wanted to die.
It has some of the earmarks of a FF attack, with the ages, and strange video. She wrote a manifesto, and apparently is linked with some kind of militant trans group, and shirts are being promoted that show this.
There was a person there who just happened to be at the parkland shooting, and was prepared with a speech about gun control.

I watched a video from a person who’s mother was a teacher at the school, and all the way through the video, she is smiling and happy looking, and not like someone who almost lost her mother. This bothers me a lot. This is a screenshot I took from the video, but you can watch the whole thing online.

I can think of a half dozen ways to prevent birth without abortion and an equal number of ways to prevent school shootings without getting rid of guns.
So…..why is it that the left can only come up with one way to prevent birth and only one way to prevent school shootings?

    Good morning to all-
Most public schools do have armed and trained police on campus. This helps.
And to those who intimate that I don't care about the persons killed but only about getting rid of the firearms- That's BS- I won't spell out the words.

I don't care about guns. I know guns, I have used guns. But I care more about children, so when children came in our house, the guns went. My choice. No one forced me.

And as far as me not caring about the children who were killed- that's wrong. As wrong as any statement can be.

Have any of you lost children close to you from gun violence? I have.

I lost kids when I was a teacher, and I can assure you, it will change your outlook on things when you see that empty desk and know that it will stay empty because the child who used to sit there was killed by a handgun.

I'm not dim enough to think that anything is going to be done to limit guns in our country. There are too many people of a certain level who use gun ownership as a point to gain favor and power with others- politicians, i mean.

But that doesn't mean I don't speak my mind when it comes to gun control.

Too many guns. Too easy for anyone to get..

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

Post them, so we can discuss them. I'm open to any solution. Even a partial solution.
