Laws only apply to law abiding citizens. Criminals ( and mentally impaired) do not respect the laws, no matter how many are written. I don't own a rapid fire, military style gun. I had the opportunity to buy one once but did not. However, if I had, I would not have used it out in public. A revolver is more handy to me on the farm than a rifle. I have only one good working leg.
I got into a civil debate with an anti gun guy from Milwaukee who sent me an email, getting my address from a purchase I had made from his company. It was a long one. He wanted all guns federally banned to protect the children.
Among other things, I said the mass shootings happened in gun free zones--just bringing a gun to school is illegal. But they are brought anyway. Why?
So the shooters can have their 15 minutes of fame. If some personnel at the schools were marksmen and it was publicized, do you think the shooters would feel safe enough to carry out their little theater?
Then I suggested that the people calling for banning guns should not wait for the government to do that if they were really concerned for the children and felt that gun bans would protect them. They should fortify the first floors of the schools and man the doors immediately.
The shootings are publicized to get people emotional. There are many stats you can look up that prove that gun purchases increased during Obama
and gun violence went down. There are also instances of guns protecting people and stopping further violence but you seldom hear of them in the mainstream media. There are many.
While you are calling for gun bans for legal citizens, our government refused to stop the cartels and gangs from streaming through our border. The government does not seem concerned with all the deaths caused by these. Or the unimaginable deaths caused by its illegal wars...

I think you are naive to an incredible degree.

First, how many is too many? Your solution is to concentrate arms in the hands of the government, military and police while citizens suffer the consequences. Why are you so concerned about guns when there are myriad other causes of death and human suffering? Maybe we should ban drugs/narcotics? Oh wait, we did, how has that worked?

I’ve posted on this forum already that the U.S. has respectably low gun homicide numbers given gun ownership numbers. It is B.S. that we have some sort of problem compared to the world at large. IF, and I mean big IF, you have any interest in learning the FACTS about guns and crime, do some reading on these two sites.

    https://crimeresearch.org/tag/cprc-original-research/
The videos at the linked sites show testimony of the research findings regarding various aspects of firearms.

This is a factual reference site with comprehensive bibliography.

This gun control stuff does push my buttons. Forget the dreams, the most fond wishes, the illusion of the nobility of mankind. We are a violent, brutish, murderous, tribal species who are obsessed with conflict. Look at our entertainment, how much of it involves conflict? We amuse ourselves with it. This is a list, probably not even comprehensive, of wars over the past 100 years, you know, when we got educated and should have known better. You want mankind to behave better, improve mankind. Taking away his toys does nothing. The list is too long to copy and paste here (I tried)

The police are under no obligation to keep us safe, and they generally show up in time to take photos of the bodies and begin their investigation. While the political class is protected by tax money and the elite are protected by armed security, these are the very people who are intent on disarming the rest of us, who would then be unprotected and vulnerable, which is the plan.

I have already listed two in this thread thus far and another 4 or 5 in other threads pertaining to the same subject matter.

Still, the easiest method would be to stop people who have guns or any other kinds of weapons from entering the schools to begin with.
    Other than the easy way………
Lock the derned entrance doors when school starts and keep all the other exits locked at all times.
Get rid of backpacks and check all the gym bags.
    Employ armed security.
    Weekly locker checks.
Let it be known that teachers have the option to be armed.
Teachers need to lock the classroom doors when class starts.
Start charging parents for allowing their kids open access to firearms.

Keep politics and politicians out of the mix. Politicians aren’t happy unless they are politik’n about something and nothing gets done by politik’n.

    There’s more……

There will always be school shooting until the government takes all the legal guns and then they can stop. The school shooting are only to make people angry. They can stop them if they want by arming all the teachers and school janitors. You know that does not fit their narrative. Guns are as dangerous as the person holding it.

I want to emphasize what you said because so many people have expressed disbelief when I’ve told them that. It was a decision in an awful and sad case, Warren vs. DC.

I would agree except for the fact that we'd be outgunned by millions of criminals and their gangs. Which Obama and Holder made sure were well armed by giving Mexican Cartel lots of weapons and money.
Criminals don't go by the law.

The most dangerous place in the world is a gun free zone and one of the safest is a gun store when it is open. Funny is it not

I just want to post that I know very few people who own "military-style firearms" other than semi-auto handguns. The term "assault weapons" is used by anti-gunners because it doesn't have a true definition. People assume that when the term "assault weapons" is used, it refers to assault rifles, but it actually means whatever the speaker or writer chooses. People refer to "military-style" weapons in the same way. It can mean anything from a scary-looking airsoft gun to a weapon capable of full automatic fire, but most often is used to refer to semi-automatic or autoloading civilian weapons of some kind. I think is these situations, the problem is not "too many guns" but too few guns in the hands of responsible people.

Here is a screenshot from the video of her going through the school. I do not know what kind of weapon she has, but maybe someone else here can tell ?

The video shows her literally shooting the glass doors of the school and crawling through what is left, so locked doors didn’t stop this person, but it should have alerted people when the shooting started.
The school camera show her walking around through empty halls , so they must have been able to get most of the rooms secured before she got there.

There is also a video of her shooting open the door and walking down the halls. I think it is on Fox News.
