I've had that for quite a while when reading books. I would read about a character I did not recognize, and have to flip back several pages to where they were introduced and read again from that point. And that ain't old-age-onset for me. It stinks, because I once did a Club Med vacation, and in between all the activities I did that week, I still managed to read 2 books.

No. What you are describing is a discussion of the subject of a particular post, not the style, type, format, length, brevity, links, etc. Now if someone says, in this thread, I'm not interested in reading posts about plants, or flowers, or azaleas, that's another thing entirely.

In your example it would be nice if the reply were something more like, "I wish azaleas would grow here, but they don't." Petunias grow well. I bet they would look nice along a driveway.

I too take breaks now and then. Glad you got good news from doc,
See another one of my off topic post, I do get carried away too and highjack threads, I'm working on it.

Me too ,up and down all day most days. Plus, vision problems make it hard to read long post.

Just giving suggestions asked for, nothing personal about the forum or how its handled. I'm fine with how it is.

I didn't take it any negative way, but was just responding.

In general I think forums need, good admin/moderators who genuinely care
about their site, as this one seems to. I am new, but have a good feel for
participating here so far. I've always/still do poke about several online forums
or Senior Sites for some years. Always a mix of pros and cons, that is the norm
I feel. Great members on so many sites, some conflicts on most sites, the lists
go on and on don't they. This site seems quality to me, I will be in and out like
a rotating door most likely, but I intend to stay :)

Thanks, @Janine Coral. We haven't been conflict-free here either, but we try to keep it civil.

When I find a topic interesting, I often enjoy discussing it. If it isn't to my liking, I'll just keep going until I come across something.

I rarely start a thread, as I sit and ponder it, I say to myself, "oh, that's not going to pass muster at all."

    Back to square one.

What forums need is a tab linking to a hypnotic relaxation recording. Everyone is just hanging on to the starboard side these days and what makes it even worse is some clown is always rocking the boat.

Also, I'm looking for famous poets who had identical twins. Perhaps there were a pair o' Keats?

What do I think forums need? Well, what this forum has feels good to me so far.

I poke about and actually do read some topic threads but don't post. Sort of depends
on the given week with me, and if I want to be lighthearted or otherwise, or just calm
    my mind.

Forums need a wide range of topics for members to chose and pick to their liking, and
I also think participations go in cycles all depending on the time of year, and what folks
are out doing, that kind of thing.

This forum has great topics, and I enjoy viewing many of them.
