That is the problem. We cannot determine how much of this mess is due to incompetence and how much is intent. Some have said that much of what is going on with the bankruptcy of the nation is to allow digital currency to take over so that they can control everything. If the dollar collapses, it is the perfect excuse of digitalizing the currency. They have already now done it for inter-bank transfers due to the ongoing collapse of the banking system, but bringing all the dollars home from overseas will create even more problems...The Great Reset when you will own nothing but will be happy, as the government will take care of your every need, but none of your wants.

I just saw that New York is on the way to banning gas appliances of all kinds in new construction, but the governor has several dwellings and she has so far refused to switch them to electric. Hypocrisy is everywhere as the environmentalists fly all over the world in private jets while denouncing "lesser" people for driving gas and diesel vehicles. When I last checked, Al Gore's house in Tennessee was the biggest private energy residential user in the state of Tennessee, but he makes millions every year telling others how evil they are for their energy usage.

I see one report this morning that Japan is now considering using BRICS to purchase oil. It appears that all the allies are now leaving the U.S. I believe many saw what happened in Afghanistan as a sign the United States has become an unreliable partner. I think that is why Saudi Arabia in particular is abandoning us. Biden was begging the Saudis to pump more oil as he was draining the Strategic Oil Reserves to support Democrat candidates in 2020. Now the reserve has been drained, we are on the brink of war on multiple fronts, and Saudi Arabia has turned its back on the U.S. and its dollar and is looking toward Russia and China as more reliable partners. The Saudi government just signed an agreement with Russia to actually cut oil production in an effort to get the price of oil over $100 a barrel by fall as the West (except Australia and New Zealand) goes into the winter season. Won't life be grand?

I was just wondering what the U.S. bankruptcy sale will be like. Will the National Parks be the first to go, or will it be our farmland? I am sure there are substantial unmined deposits of gold and silver in Glacier National Park, as well as Wrangell-St. Elias. Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Alaska have deposits of rare earth minerals that the Environmentalists won't allow to be mined now, but the Chinese will have no such qualms....

Saudi was never a true friend but a stable US government was able to gain an advantage from them. As I've suggested before, this is not the result of incompetence on the part of the Biden Administration. Whoever is running the show there wants to give the advantage to US opponents. The New World Order does not include a free America at its head.

Worth repeating. In fact, it probably does not include a free America in any form.

You and I will have to disagree about the competence of the Biden Administration, @Ken Anderson. Saudi Arabia was never our friend, but we dealt with them under a system of symbiotic blackmail: we agreed to supply them with weapons at a discount rate and train much of their military and they would agree to sell oil only in U.S. Dollars. That relationship was maintained since the 1970s and actually strengthened under Trump. Don Junior was no diplomat, but he had learned negotiation from his father and was largely responsible for the Abraham Accords that brought a kind of peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia, among other things. In this administration, positions are filled according to race, sexual identity and party loyalty, not by any measure of competence. That is, in part, why we have a 76-year old matron in charge of the Treasury who is not sure what is happening, and a Secretary of Transportation who was known as "Pothole Pete" when he was mayor of a small city.

I don't think that amounts to a disagreement. Because those in charge of the Biden Administration aren't concerned with maintaining the stability of the United States on the worldwide stage, they can afford to appoint whoever to do whatever, given that they don't even want them to be successful at doing the job that someone in that position would ordinarily do. For example, I don't view what Buttigieg is doing as even pretending to accomplish the ordinary tasks of a Transportation Secretary.

    STORY AT-A-GLANCE
    • Alex Jones, host of “The Alex Jones Show” and founder of Infowars.com, was one of the first to be targeted for massive censorship. As of August 2018, he’d already been uniformly removed from Apple, Facebook, Google and Twitter. They all targeted and deplatformed him within days of each other
    • Continuing his effort to alert people to the global enslavement agenda, Jones wrote “The Great Reset: And the War for the World.” The book details how the takeover began, how it’s being implemented, and to what end
    • The world is at a crossroads right now. The decision to be made is whether we’re going to have a pro-human future, or a transhumanist technocracy, a biomedical tyranny, under which you have no rights whatsoever

    • Jones traces the beginning of the desire for a global totalitarian regime all the way back to Plato, who in “The Republic” expressed the idea that the poor ought to be killed off, and a race with elite characteristics be bred

    • British economist Thomas Robert Malthus proposed exterminating poor people 300 years ago by crowding and disease in order to prevent overpopulation. Malthus was heavily funded by the British royal family and the Rothschilds, who together with the Rockefellers, developed most of the modern sciences. His ideas continued down through Sir Francis Galton, who developed modern eugenics, and Bill Gates

There are now rumors that France may join BRICS and may abandon the Euro and return to the Franc. Macron was in China for some purpose, and this has given rise to many rumors. It appears that China is going around undoing much of the good Mr. Trump's administration did and is picking off our allies one by one. Japan is signing on to do business directly with Russia and China, then Mexico, and now France. Throw Saudi Arabia in there as well, and you have a recipe for collapse of gigantic proportions. We'll see how this progresses, but , just like China and Japan are slowly liquidating their dollar-denominated assets to avoid collapsing the value of said assets, the BRICS alliance is expanding slowly for the same purpose. The "world" doesn't want America to collapse until the rest of the world is ready.

I’m always curious what were the specific events that cause a big shift like that. I can’t remember if you’ve said, but it would be interesting to hear. I read a lot of the “Walk Away” stories by people who have walked away from liberal politics and perceptions. I wish there was a way to put it into the kool aid people drink.

Looking back on my college days, I think I was probably quite left leaning even if only superficially so. My walk away was more a slow drift away.

I stopped voting for Democrats when I realized they expected all their voters to be stupid and not pay any attention to what is happening. That was in the 1980s.

The 1980's I bought a apt converted condo at a HIGH interest rate, 13% I believe, I didn't know anything. I was able to unload it 5 yrs later and made no profits, only some tax savings over those yrs.

It was when I reached a salary of $40K yr people kept saying "you gotta buy"'''''

It was a bad investment, investors bought as investments and I didn't like the part of LA....so my goal was to get out and I did... Sold to a fellow in the complex who was a real estate investor...never had any desire to buy again.....that was an albatross around my neck and I did it.

I got stuck like that too, @Joy Martin. It was the worst decision of my life. I was saved by a wonderful real estate man, who managed to sell my house to a tennis pro who used it as a dorm for his students and took the interest as a business expense.

I walked away from the Democrats when I grew up. The first year that I voted, I voted for McGovern, and he was the last Democrat I voted for in a national election.
