When I had my first one, there was a business that provided a nurse chauffeur (although at that time there was no requirement for someone to be present.) They recommended against you taking a taxi, since the cabbie would not know what to do if you collapsed. But as I told them, I could collapse as soon as I got home and shut the door behind me.

And I know a woman who did not get anesthesia when she had her colonoscopy done. She's a better man than I.

My understanding is that there are polyps that are neither cancerous nor precancerous, but they get removed anyway "just to be safe." (Follow the science, huh?) It does make you wonder what the consequences might be.

I had a bunch of precancerous ones removed at my first colonoscopy and overshot my 5 year follow-up by a lot. The next colonoscopy I had either found nothing or it found one or two small ones, I cannot recall which.

I’m just paranoid, probably from having worked a bit in cancer research. If there’s something growing anywhere in or on me, I usually want to know about it and want it gone.

One good prevention for hard stools and stressing which often causes blood and creates hemmrohoids, is getting plenty of fiber and fiber foods daily. Don't get backed up with non fiber foods..and ENUF H20. Warm room temp is best.

I've said before I am shocked at what a difference a low-level amount of prebiotics has made. Prebiotics is one type of soluble indigestible fiber. 6-7 grams or so a day.
