I think he has a son and a daughter and also several grandkids probably in their 30s.

He's been quiet the past couple of days. Perhaps he's home now.

Hope he is home and comfortable. I have been wondering about him since he hasn't been posting.

So do I, Thomas. He was looking forward to leaving the hospital. I hope his children get him the care he needs since he's lost use of his left side.

One of my best friends Husband had a similar stroke and he was just totally dead on his left side. He lasted a year after leaving the hospital and passed away. He needed a cushion under his left arm when he was sitting. He was not very healthy and drank a lot of beer so I'm sure it contributed to his end. He had a great life and a shame he left before enjoying it. Had a nice little upstairs home over looking Lake Livingston Tx, retired from one job and was the police chief for a long time at Livingston. I knew several friends who moved there in the mid 70s early 80s and bought property for near nothing. Today anything on the lake shore is worth a ransom. My Texas friends are having better luck at long life than those here where I live now. La has always had a problem with ground water due to the constant bombardment of crop dusting and chemicals. If you pinned each death on a map it would be enough to prove how bad it is. One Aunt died in her sixties with cancer and she never smoked drank or did anything but work. Her sister developed dementia in her late 60s. They lived their entire lives in the same little farming community. I know of several people who also died in that little area from cancer. As a kid I would walk down the black top going to my Great Grandmothers house just down the road and a crop duster would come by and spray a nearby field and the smell was just terrible. I know for a fact it was hitting the creek that ran down the property lines. I must have good genes because I have been defoliated fogged and hog tied and I am still pretty normal. Going wed for an appointment to have my blood pressure checked again and my med adjusted if needed. Blood work was good again, must be all that chili I eat.

I received another voice message from Al a short while ago. He's still in Rehab, and hopes to get home very soon. His voice was much clearer and stronger. Good signs.

Somehow I missed the notice that Lois posted about Al being in the hospital.

Prayers go out that he really can go home after having such a major happening as a stroke.
I’ll just be happy to see him posting again…..

Nope. In his last Facebook post, on May 14, he said he was in the hospital but expecting to go home soon. I can find his wife's obituary, but I am not finding one for him.

He never messaged me back, Beth. Could be he's living with one of his children now. I really don't know. I'll check his FB account to see if he's still there.
How have you been good friend? Ok, I hope. I'm hanging in there.

I just checked Al's FB page and he hasn't posted since late last year. Nothing more.
