“What you see is what you get” isn’t necessarily what the reality is because many of us have this inner self that sits in the background who never quite makes it to the surface. As for me, well, I’ve spent a bunch of my life doing so many different things and for the most part and with the exception of going to war, I enjoyed what I have done and experienced but if one were to remove the facade or rather, the “what you see” part, the photo below illustrates my inner self perfectly. So…..Who are YOU…….really?
Well, I don't know Bobby. That shack is in need of repair and if that represents your inner self it sure contradicts with your outer self as we know it here on SOC. My inner self is much the same as my outer. I can be a faithful wife to an evangelist or a scant clad pinup girl.
I love those “fixer-uppers” plus an old cabin like that can tell a lot of stories. Stories that only old souls with a good imagination can hear. Plus that, ya can’t see what kind of furniture is in there…..
Well, I always thought I was a stalwart Scot but because of some astounding news I learned a few years ago, it turns out that I'm more Swedish than anything else. Uff da! I'm embracing my Svenska side.
If you are basing your thoughts on Ancestry or 23 and Me, I would stay with what you knew. Europeans moved around a lot, and the Vikings comprised most of what people think of as Irish, Russians and other. The Normans of northern France were originally from Scandinavia and they moved into England from there. The English Anglo-Saxons were originally from Germany. Now if you have some African or Chinese in there, I would give that more consideration.
Yeah, I already do that which is why I’d rather not have anyone around to get on my lawn much less have a lawn.
When I was a lad I asked myself numerous times why old people didn’t like kids because they were once kids too. Now I ask myself why I don’t like people because I’m a people too.
