I enjoy this playing this game daily whether I do well or not. Post your results and let's have a laugh! https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle I can't seem to make a post from the clipboard work....
@Gina Scott , it looks like you have to have a New York Times account to play that game. Can you come up with an idea of how we can play it here?
I don't generally have a problem posting daily results on other forums. I've just entered a thread here requesting help, as my results don't show up, only the blank squares. It's copied to my clipboard, then when I use "ctrl V" to paste it , it won't post properly. I hope to get this resolved, and then we can play!
Hi Gina Scott, you don't like to play our games here?? Hopes would be ,that you would play some of our games here too,, Please give our Games a try,, hope to see that happen,,,,soon!
@Louise Miller , I will play some games here. Thank you for inviting me. I am addicted to Wordle so was interested in trying to start a thread. It's not going to happen.
I’m not real sure that fits into games category ?? And with never ending SCAMS many including myself is VERY reluctant to sign up to online games …. Off this forum
This is interesting to me about the game Wordle. I was a member of a Senior Site for 8 years that I am no longer a member of. Anyway, the game 'Wordle' was played amongst some members, and they sure had fun with it all. I don't remember though details about it, except that it went on for about a year with active participation. It was still being played active in 2022.
The link posted in first post requires you to” sign up” Not something I’d do …but other members who play games may are Interested
@John Brunner is working hard to set us up with a form of Wordle so we can have our own thread here. He has been diligent in his efforts, and I am in awe. The help section, Can't Copy From Clipboard, and his posts, #29 in particular, may explain some of this better than I can.
Hey, folks: Here is a link to a daily Wordle game that does not require you to sign up for an account: https://wordlearchive.app/ It's the source game that the NY times links back to. A fresh game is available at midnight Eastern Standard Time in the U.S. After you've finished the game, you'll see this screen: Click on the SHARE button and it will say "Results Copied to Clipboard." Come back to this thread and Paste your results (Edit/Paste or CTRL+V), like so: Wordle 686 6/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜ This tells you the Puzzle Number and how many tries it took you. It's also supposed to show where you selected Wrong Letters (black box), Right Letters/Wrong Spot (yellow box), and Right Letters/Right Spot (green box), but that graphic does not paste correctly into the popular forum programs, such as Xenforo and vBulletin. The above graphic only shows where there are WRONG letters. (Full explanation here.) We figured that while the correct graphic would be nice to have, there's nothing we can do to fix it, and the Puzzle# and #Attempts are all that's essential to sharing our results here. After folks have had time to read this message, I'll make it a Sticky so the link to the game is in the first post new members encounter. I may also delete all previous posts where we had these discussions so the game thread is clean, unless anyone has objections. As a Moderator, I can Edit this comment at any time, so if we later decide to change/clarify the rules, I will modify this Sticky post. Keep an eye out for a Wordle Challenge thread. The Wordle site lets you create your own puzzle and share the link for others to try to solve. Details & discussion will be had in that other thread. Thanks, @Gina Scott, for getting the Wordle ball rolling and for getting us to this point!
I'll go first. This is from today's puzzle (May 6, 2023.) https://wordlearchive.app/ Wordle 686 X/6 ⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛ X/6 means I did not guess the word. Not much of a start. 8 hours left before the puzzle changes.
@Gina Scott and @John Brunner This is the link I use. Don't remember ever having to sign up. https://wordlegame.org You can play unlimited games. It seems to have a very large database of words it randomly chooses from. So occasionally there will be a repeat. But very seldom. Try holding down a right mouse key and use "web capture" to copy the table. It might be not be available on all browsers. (I have Edge)
Can we play it on here? It looks like we would have to go to another site to play. I don't want to do that. It would take away from my time here.
