Over the weekend, mass shooting in Allen, Texas. A 33 year was shot/killed by police who was shooting people at a Mall. He was former Army, but got Discharged for mental health reasons. In his vehicle, at the Mall, he had numerous weapsons and ammunition. A retired Army Officer, who seen the shooting, told local news, "Mental Health problems isn't the problem. American absolutely needs gun control!!"
According to the news, both shooters were associated with Mexican cartels, and both had gang tattoos from prison or elsewhere. Immigration is saying that they are not American citizens, and it seems completely possible that one or both of these killings were drug related. The Allen, Texas shooter lived with his parents, and they could not speak English, so were obviously very newly arrived in the US., although the shooter has an arrest record that goes back several years, from the news articles I have read.
I don't think the vaccines caused a kind of mass hysteria. But the fear caused by the media about covid and the isolation from it forced was definitely not good for mental health. IMHO the media is the cause. One kid sees the gross notoriety received by an act that a child does not appreciate the true consequences of. Of course, adults want some notoriety too. The powers that be want a way to do away with our second amendment. Not to keep us from hunting or protecting ourselves but to keep us from standing up to the government in any appreciable way. So they push the headlines--not the times when a gun diffused a situation or save lives. Sadly there were recently shootings in my town. We have gone from a sleepy little country town of 25 years ago to a pretty good sized small city. People have moved up from Milwaukee and Chicago to get away from violence but brought a lot with them. We have been becoming a stop on a drug highway from Milwaukee to Green Bay. But I want no removal of guns from the law abiding nor do I want more laws which would make them law breakers if they refused to surrender their arms. If Chicago actually went after their shooters with true punishment instead of turning them loose with slaps on their wrists. Or if they went after them at all, things might have been different. Trump had offered realistic help but was refused. NOW BIden is calling for troops at our border after millions of potential criminals have crossed. Talk about closing the barn door after the horses got out. Troops being put in harms way that Biden's administration caused.
Good morning to all- Simple. Too many military style guns- autofire handguns and autofire long guns. Much too easy for ANYONE to get these weapons. That's it. So, my question is this: Just when did this military-style weapons/rifles first start being sold in gun shops and sporting goods stores around the Nation? Wife and I were members of the NRA years ago, but when they started supporting these weapons, like the AK47, we ended our membership. Actually, back in 2004, wife and I visited a gun/rifle range that was east of Denver, CO for their New Membership Promotion Day. The range looked nice, until we heard rapid-fire coming from one part of the range. I asked our Guide, "what is that?". He said, "oh that's our machine gun/AK47 range. If you, or you wife, want to fire one, I'll be more that glad to take you over there." I looked at him and said, "all we want you to do is take us back to our vehicle. We've seen and heard enough." He took us back, I thanked him for showing us the range and we left..........never/ever to return!
So Cody, why don't you get rid of all your guns and support outlawing all guns? Your guns are capable of killing as many people as rounds they hold if shot into a crowd? Is killing 6 humans better than 30? What possible reason can you give us for having any guns? Your reasons will be the same as all responsible owners of AK 47s and similar firearms. It is the love of shooting and maybe defense. Furthermore handguns like a 9mm are "military" style weapons. I remember you said you have one. I fear a mentally ill person with a Colt six shooter a lot more than a sane person with an AK47. I fear a mentally ill person with a knife more than a sane person with an AK47. I fear the mental illness and Democrat supported violence that is sweeping the nation. No AK47 without a human pulling the trigger, ever fired a shot. The only reason I see for responsible citizens having multi round rapid fire weapons, is it is a deterrent against fascist leaders declaring martial law and seizing private property. If these so called "assault" weapons are outlawed and confiscated from the sane citizens, then only the drug cartels, gangs, and newly formed fascist government groups will have them. Then they will come for all guns since members of such forementioned groups are cowards and don't want to die even from a single shot of a black powder rifle. You see if 20 "military assault" weapon armed government thugs break down your door, not one of them wants to die, but they know if the citizen doesn't have an equal weapon, they can't get them all. When all gun are out of private ownership which is the goal of our current administration, then these thugs have nothing to fear. If you remember, the mass killing and property destruction in Oklahoma City were done with fertilizer.
