Lot of Mexican food in California too. I like Cilantro, isn't that a form of coriander? I'd eat the Tangine, Terry as long as it wasn't with lamb. Only meat I don't like.
Lobio and Khachapuri (cheese filled bread) followed by Ajapsandali, which is galicky so you may like it. Among the many riffs on ratatouille served throughout Europe and the Middle East, west Georgian ajapsandali stands out. For one, it's unapologetically spicy, with garlicky adjika taking a central role. And unlike its Mediterranean counterparts, in which the vegetables are too often reduced to mush, ajapsandali is an oven-roasted medley of firm eggplant and crisp bell peppers, lightly bound at the last minute with fresh tomato purée and livened up with a flurry of chopped cilantro. While customarily served in the final months of summer, when tomatoes and eggplant are bountiful, ajapsandali's warming and sinus-clearing properties make it optimal winter fare as well. Yes Cilantro is the same thing, you can put what you like in a tagine but I prefer lamb, though I know it's not to everyone's taste, mind you I have only had vegetarian ones lately
I'm giggling. I totally get this thread. The thread is called Joy, Happiness, and all things positive…and so far 16 out of 18 posts mention food….warm food
I am starting to remember that for me happiness is just an adjustment of viewpoint. When I'm sad, I remind myself of just how much I still have. I still feel guilty about not *doing*, and I have to remind myself that I'm not a beast of burden. I'm starting to look closer at the little things around me, the trees in bud, the chirp of baby birds all up under the eaves of this old house, my Izzy looking expectantly at me with his favorite throw toy in his mouth. Right now a squirrel is laughing at Izzy from an oak tree in front of our glass front door. I think this little guy is happier than some people I know.
