While scanning thru you tube I found some work of art by Picasso, Keith Haring etc.
They were put up for sale on Pawn Stars.

I couldn't believe the enormous prices people were asking for them.
However, I don't get it. To me, "art" is something that is readily identified a thing we see in our world. The above works of "art" need to be explained to u by "art" experts.

There was not one of them I'd ever hang on my wall, no matter what they were worth.

They should start calling that kind of art “graphic investments” because it’s all about money. I was reading somewhere how pieces of art are great ways for the wealthy to move around large sums of money. We have artwork in our home, photographic, painting, thread work, etc., because we like the imagery. None of it is expensive stuff. Personally, I think it is absurd when people start spending thousands to millions of dollars for colors painted on cloth.

I have never cared for "modern art" and always wonder why paint spattered on a canvas that my dog could do would be worth anything to anyone. But, there's one born every minute so whatever spins your prop.

I guess it's ... to each his own. I supposed I'd have to see each piece to decide how I felt about it.

I prefer the Renaissance stuff. The rest of it requires more pretentiousness than I could muster.

I call this one "Mister Potato Head Meets Timothy Leery"
It was done during my Acid Spud period.
