This is the url for a YouTube Shorts video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/XV9ijKAubfU It only pastes as a link, because most forum software do not recognize it as being a valid YouTube url. I order to embed the video, use the Media Icon in the toolbar, paste the url, and replace "shorts" with the letter "v" like so: https://www.youtube.com/v/XV9ijKAubfU
I was going to ask you that. But on this laptop, I don't even have a toolbar. I want my old XP back! I could just post pix from files and all sorts of mundane things.
Maybe we're not talking about the same toolbar. I'm referring to the toolbar above where we type out comments: The Media Icon is circled in red.
If you're missing the Comments area toolbar, you can resize your Folder window to lay over the Browser window so they are both visible at the same time, then drag & drop pictures from your tablet to the Comment:
I’m on an iPad and all I have been doing is just copying the YouTube URL and pasting it. So far, so good.
That works on Windows machines as well, as long as you're not pasting a YouTube "short." YouTube Shorts is the short-form section of the American video-sharing website YouTube, hosting content much like YouTube's primary service but with a focus on vertical videos at a maximum length of 60 seconds. YouTube shorts have a different url format that forums do not recognize as being a YouTube video.
No tool bar and this machine does not work with my phone for pix. I think I can bring that black heifer back as my avatar cuz we put that in a file with my email account long ago.
So no Comments Section toolbar? Jayce Gray recently posted the same issue with her tablet. Did you recently lose the Comments toolbar? Had it been there before?
This is great John!! I hadn't tried posting a short, but some are really hilarious so I might just do that!!
What type of laptop do you have Mary, and what browser are you using (Edge, Firefox, Chrome)? PS I don't know what you have yet but here's a pic of my Firefox Menu etc. If I right click in a black or blank area I get a menu that allows me to add something to my "control" panel, or leave something off. Not sure if this helps, but when I know what type of tablet you have, unless it's an Ipad, I might be able to help you if you are running Chrome or Edge browsers. Denise
That's great, sometimes I just right click the picture or video and it works fine but I'm still running Windows 10. I have a laptop, but HP was my choice again except it's Win 11. It would be hard for me to get used to MacIntosh, which is now just Apple. I admit I've been coaxing myself to have one and try it out
We both had Mac computers for a long time, many different models over the years. Once we got the iPads, we turn on the computers maybe once every two months, hardly use the computers.
