GLEN JEAN, W.Va. — Amid the hundreds of tents erected for the Boy Scouts of America’s National Jamboree, one especially stands out — decorated with a canopy of LGBTQ Pride flags and a string of multicolored lights, its tables covered with bowls of rainbow bracelets, pronoun stickers and diversity patches. “This is my entire world,” said 18-year-old River Capell, a scout volunteer from Northern Virginia who describes themselves as nonbinary and pansexual. Since the jamboree began last week, Capell has had plenty of company under the huge canvas. “There’s been days where there’s 2,000 kids in this tent alone. And that is just, like, absurd.” What do you think? As for wife and I, we don't want to "think"! LOL
I think the organization is "BOY" Scouts. So if you are not a boy, you are not allowed to join. Weirdos can form their own organization and I'd be happy to help they/them name it.
One of my sons attended the Jamboree where his leaders were electrocuted erecting a tent. He witnessed the event and was offered counseling but never attended. I would not have permitted my children to even be in a Scout troop now. Their old troop has changed to a Trail Life troop, which is a church-based, Christian organization.
Seems we have a singular/plural agreement issue here. Let people live as they choose, but don't enable the delusion.
My neighbor was a scoutmaster for decades, and only stopped because his knees were trashed (he's just had one replaced.) They replaced him with a woman. I understand the Girl Scouts have likewise been invaded.
Just what is this world, or should I specifically say "America" coming to? What will happen next..........young girls in FFA and 4-H checking out other young girls butts out or young boys doing the same? Then again, there is a Gay Rodeo Association. Heck, I even have a hard time writing that!
Up here I know of no Girl Scout troops with boys in them, but girls want to do many of the things boys do in Scouts. That used to be satisfied by Campfire Girls, who did a lot of outdoor activities, but they were taken over by the Liberal establishment and it became a Progessive indoctrination training group that included boys and became "Campfires"
If parents are unwilling to protect children from predators then society should shut these groups down. I haven't bought a GS cookie in at least 20 years.
Although there are others, I think the most notable alternative to Woke Scouts is Trail Life USA. It is designed to be everything the Boy Scouts used to be, minus the molestations, hopefully (although predators will insert themselves wherever they can). I will say that while I was a Cub Scout and then a Boy Scout, I never even heard of any reports of adult molestations of Scouts. I don't doubt that it occurred somewhere, but I do believe these activities are far more common now, and the result of a general deterioration of our society.
I never heard of any molestation in the Scouts either as a boy or as an adult leader. Sanctioning openly gay scouts then openly gay leaders made scouting impossible to operate as it once did. Scouting is now just another Campfire organization training progressive young people to tolerate anything.
This is very true, Don. And, I wonder how many parents have taken their sons/daughters out of Scouts because of what's happened to these organizations. I mean, I'm sure there are both parents and their kids that don't agree with this openly gay scouts/leaders. I think there are certain organizations, and their supporters, who are pushing everyone to accept what they are. And, pushing very hard.
Have asked before but... why in heaven's name is it even necessary to bring attention to your sexual preferences ? And any person under age 18 should not have a sexual preference ! Get back in the closet gonna lock the door
It's a lack of self-acceptance (and maybe a little self-loathing) plus a big dose of immaturity projected onto everyone else.
