    From the article:

In recent years, soaring numbers of people in the Netherlands have been legally euthanized for:
    • autism
    • alcoholism
    • depression
    • dementia
    • the effects of being a victim of sexual abuse
In 2020, the government relaxed laws to allow children under 12 years old to be euthanized for minor disabilities. Doctors in the Netherlands have been ordered to begin euthanizing citizens with autism and other minor disabilities, without fear of prosecution – even if the patient does not currently express any desire to die.

Many of the patients cited a number of mental, physical, and age-related ailments as the reason for ending their lives — including unbearable loneliness. Five people younger than 30 who were killed by doctors all had autism listed as the sole reason behind the decision to end their lives, the Kingston University study found.

Pure evil, and it makes me wonder why so many people died fighting the Nazis only to adopt the same policies seventy years later. In the US, we have a maladministration doing everything it can to keep the Nazis in power in Ukraine, while, throughout the world, Nazi ideals are being adopted and implemented.

My mother was British, and her brother was a Spitfire pilot. I've often thought the same thing, and it's not just recent events that have caused those thoughts.

History has always repeated itself since recorded history began. There will be massive world wars long after we all are gone , if the world makes it that long.

I believe these were people that wanted to die and seeked Physician assisted Suicide.
There are areas of the United States that also allowed this.. This is an article from Wikipedia.

Euthanasia is currently illegal in all 50 states of the United States.[1] Assisted suicide is legal in 10 jurisdictions in the US: Washington, D.C.[2] and the states of California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont, New Mexico, Maine,[3] New Jersey,[4] Hawaii, and Washington.[5] The status of assisted suicide is disputed in Montana, though currently authorized per the Montana Supreme Court's ruling in Baxter v. Montana that "nothing in Montana Supreme Court precedent or Montana statutes [indicates] that physician aid in dying is against public policy."[6]

But there's a major issue with "capacity." Some number were autistic, and a law was passed allowing kids under 12 to be killed for "minor disabilities."

You're right. It's a tough call when it comes to autonomy over one's own being.

I did a poor job of pointing out that this is not only the "slippery slope" that many foresee, it's almost literally special needs adults and children being pushed off of the cliff. And what do you do? Those who are pushing it have as little disregard for each other's lives as they do for the victims.

There are those that have no regard for human life, Whether it be healthy or unhealthy, young or old.
Fortunately, we live in a country where there are individuals, and organizations that try to help the less fortunate. Like billy joel said "it's a matter of trust", If you support and contribute to an organization you want to make sure your contribution goes to the needy, not Someone's bank account.

It seems they are doing the same thing in Canada now, you don't have to be ill or terminal, just ask. The depopulation of the world is well on it's way and you hear no one speaking against it. I'm not sure if I'm totally against it in all cases, I've seen too many cancer patients that beg for relieve from the pain and die slow and miserably. I also do not mind the death penalty in some cases of the horrors people commit on others.

They're only getting rid of 1st World Citizens whose birth rates have long been below replacement level (meaning people are dying off in greater numbers than they are being born.) That's only going to accelerate with our generation aging out. Africa and India are the ones increasing the world's population, more than making up for everyone else's declining numbers.

I am not advocating killing anyone. To the extent one might believe that "too many humans"is an issue, they key is to escort those nations into the modern era...declining birth rates will naturally follow.
