I think they're asking for "doneness." I don't like my bacon to be chewy, I need all the fat rendered out and it's gotta be crisp...but not burnt. So I'm choosing 4.5
A Short History of Bacon "In the 12th century, a church in the English town of Great Dunmow promised a side of bacon to any married man who could swear before the congregation and God that he had not quarreled with his wife for a year and a day. A husband who could "bring home the bacon" was highly regarded by the community for his forbearance."
The History of Bacon & Eggs Bacon and Eggs Before They Got Together "According to food historians, humans have been eating eggs for about 6 million years, originally eating them raw from the nests of wild birds." "Bacon can be dated back to 1500 BC, making it one of the oldest cuts of meat. " When Did Bacon and Eggs Become Breakfast? "Funnily enough, bacon and eggs for breakfast can all be traced back to the founding father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud. He just really has a way of inserting himself in American culture. His nephew, Edward Bernays, inspired by his uncle's work was a founder of propaganda and public relations and is credited with the introduction of bacon and eggs into the American breakfast" "In the 1920's Americans typically ate light breakfasts of coffee, orange juice, rolls. In order to increase bacon sales Bernays wrote to 5,000 physicians asking whether a heavy breakfast was better for health than a light breakfast. 4,500 physicians wrote back confirming that a heavy breakfast was better for health as the body is depleted of nutrients after a night of sleep. He had this 'study' published in newspapers across America, conveniently presenting bacon and eggs as the ideal choice."
All advertising does the same thing, but only tobacco enemas are honest about it (not that they have a choice.)
Bacon isn't just to eat anymore... Crunchy bacon air freshener. I wonder if the "crunchy" part gives it a smoky aroma.
Chemical Guys makes car detailing products (wax, polish, cleaners, wheel & tires cleaners, buffers & pads, etc.) I have a bunch of their stuff. I had no idea they carry air fresheners and odor eliminators. I wonder what that stuff smells like after the sun's worked on it for a while.
Bacon is the oldest meat on the planet.. since 1500 BC -so I read yesterday. There's is a reason fer that- it is tasty
I like bacon done, with some crunch..mine seem to always be too craispy. Unless you cook it in the oven then it comes out great.
