The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on Tuesday released a list of 10 drugs that will be part of the Medicare price-setting Drug Price Negotiation Program that was established via the Inflation Reduction Act. The selected drug list for the first round, according to CMS, includes Eliquis, Jardiance, Xarelto, Januvia, Enbrel, Farxiga, Entresto, Imbruvica, and Stelara, as well as multiple types of Novo Nordisk’s Fiasp. They include Fiasp FlexTouch, Fiasp PenFill, NovoLog, NovoLog FlexPen, and NovoLog PenFill. https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/he...e-federal-government-is-now-targeting-5482487 I would imagine there is some concern about this among seniors but I haven’t seen it discussed anywhere. The only thread I could find on it here was 2 years old and very brief. I know you like old threads to be reused so if this should be merged that’s fine. I will know next time. I read that Trump started this ball rolling, Biden vetoed it, and here we are heading into an election year...
Trump dropped the prices on many "necessary" drugs and Biden, in his wisdom, increased--or allowed the drug companies to increase--the price of those drugs such as the many forms of insulin and EpiPens and such. I am glad to see it whatever the reason, for the burdens on those with Type 1 diabetes and severe allergies has been terrible among the less-affluent people. G.W. Bush vetoed, or threatened to do so, when Congress tried to include that in the Part D Medicare bill when it passed. One of many sad things Bush did.
