I can feel the pressure from the wind pressing against the windows and it just started at 6AM.Very uneasy since there is a red maple right outside my living room window. But fingers crossed that the power and internet stay up and running.I have Rogers and their track record was very poor when Fiona hit. It's all about trust for me when it comes to utilities.I know no one is listening but I am somewhat scared.
Do you have candles or battery operated candles? When time is right try and get a battery operated light. Keep checking in here long as you can. Are you in the direct path of storm?
I have a battery operated lantern, like a Coleman lantern and I did get extra batteries.I will keep checking in Hedi.I'm glad this place is here.
It looks like you and @Ken Anderson (who lives in Millinocket, Maine) are both right where storm Lee is coming ashore, @Julia Curtis . Hoping neither of you lose power or have any other difficulties from the storm, and sending out a prayer for God to watch over both you, Ken, and Michelle as this storm passes over. Keep us updated as much as you can, please !
Will do Yvonne.Power is on and then off so right now I had power. The wind is feirce.I have my headphones on listening to Luke Coombs. He's awesome!Hopefully Mr.Anderson is ok.
Make sure that your laptop, phone, and any other battery powered devices are charged up, Julia, just in case. Even if power goes out, you might still have cell service and WiFi unless there is a lot of storm damage. When we had the bad tornadoes here, we were still able to send text messages (because they send in seconds) even when we could not make regular cell phone calls to let people know we were okay. So, if you lose ability to make a phone call, a text message might still send, if you have to call somewhere there for help.
That's very helpful Yvonne I have tablet and phone plugged in until it's fully charged and I didn't know about the texts part.Thank you Yvonne.
I hope every one is safe. When we had an earthquake that went all up & down the east coast in 2011, no one could get through on the cell phones, but everyone was able to text.
