What they did not mention is that while those of us who decline to get in line have no background with which to make a scientifically informed opinion, on what basis do "smart people" make the right choice?
More like faith in what others said about the science...or faith that there really was any science in the first place.
When offered the vax, I want to pull down my pants and bend over so when the doctor says "We don't give it that way," I can respond "I know. That's my answer." Fortunately, my doctor has not been that aggressive. There are those in the profession whom I encounter who are angry at what has been/is being done.
My doctor approached it something like this... "I have to ask. Are you interested in getting the COVID vaccination? "No." "I understand, but I had to ask."
My doctor's practice was bought by the regional behemoth. This corporation pushes for vaxxing 6 month old babies. The local, hip Charlottesville rag is all too glad to run articles supporting it. When COVID originally hit, the health care system made their exclusively-work-from-home bill processing staff get vaxxed. So my doctor has gotta ask. I have a perfect track record of never having had a flu vax in my life, so I lean on that. I'm a little concerned about this stress test I have coming up because I gotta go into the belly of the beast to have it done, and those who are closer to the Mother Ship tend to be a little more aggressive.
Thanks, Don. Last time I was at UVA Cardio unit (my cholesterol was high), the doctor's Fellow was a young woman from Ireland. She was angry she had to pay for her own healthcare and education here in the states. Then without giving specific advice or details, she said "Go vegan." The doctor--also lacking specifics--also said "Go vegan." He did have a nice earring, though. Actually, I've had a couple of CT scans at the hospital since the COVID boogeyman came to town, and no one said anything about the vax.
Kinda knew that was what you were going to say. But, at least you could have meat and eggs. (and alternative flour)
