And of course the worse part is that we don’t really don’t know who is doing the dragging. We didn’t elect them, don’t even know who they are. They sure don’t take their marching orders from us, probably directly from the DNC or whoever has the deepest pockets then.
Because the Democrats no longer control the Senate when the seat is vacant. See the "September 23-25 prophecy" thread. Things could get passed by the Republicans while the seat is empty.
Yes, I realize why the powers that be are urging a swift appointment but they probably have nothing to fear from a party that can’t get their stuff together. Nothing would surprise me, Krystal. As I understand it Newsom has promised to choose Feinstein’s replacement based on gender and race.
McConnell is kinda a waste of space and should be removed as Minority Leader, but that won't happen either. If the Republicans had better leadership, more would be done. It is said that the Republicans won't act like Democrats because they know if they did, the entire government would fall.
Newson has replaced Feinstein with a LGBT woman from Maryland, who has been the president of a pro-abortion group, and also she was a senior advisor to Kamala Harris and has worked with her campaigns, as far back as when she was running for Senator in California. Since Laphonza Butler lives in Maryland for her DC area job, Newson said that she will have to re-register as a California resident now that he has appointed her as a California Senator.
Well, the word is that Newson was going to do the Joe Biden thing and limit the pick to a black female so I guess that’s the best he can do?
It is to be expected from the Democrats. People are chosen for their sexual identity or race rather than competence.
Not meaning to besmirch the new pick or cast any aspersions upon her, BUT she used to work for Kamala Harris and perhaps Mrs. Harris taught Ms. Butler how to gain upward mobility a bit faster by being competent in other areas not listed in any manual for a political seat.
The most interesting thing about her is she’s registered to vote in Maryland and now a Republican senator has questioned the legality of appointing a resident of a different state. Oh, she does own a home in California, just votes in MD. Will Californians care?
Probably not. Just like New Yorkers, Californians have very low standards for their elected officials, and the rest of the country suffers for it.
Gruesom did his thing, pushed thru Feinstein's replacement days before Diane's funeral: She is Female She is Black She is Lesbian She has no legislative experience And there is one more I can't come up with She is taking over a job that a person had for decades.....
