Yes, I put a bottom crust in my pie tin and add a top crust over my filling. No, I do not pre-bake it before adding the filling. After I assemble them, I wrap them in plastic wrap and slide them into a single freezer bags and freeze. I use to be able to make several pies in a day, but now it takes me two days. I get my little pie tins from Amazon.
Thanks, @Krystal Shay Regarding KFC/restaurant pot pies, I was always partial to the pot pies at Bob Evans.
I've always enjoyed them but haven't had one for quite some time. I use to make them, but not individual ones. I had prepared them in a 9-inch pie tin.
I love pot pies. Especially with The Grateful Dead playing. They're like......wow.......far out, man.
You are right. There are good ones and not great ones. But for me, it is more work than they are worth to make now.
Ok, you guys have convinced me. We don’t have Bob Evans here but there is a KFC down the road a bit. I haven’t been to KFC for many years but I think I’ll pick up a pot pie for dinner since I don’t have the ambition to make my own.
The closest Bob Evans is an hour away. There are a couple of KFCs a little closer than that. One of them is a KFC/Long John Silver combo...they do neither well. Maybe I'll hit a KFC next time I'm in town. I really wish there were a Bob Even's closer to me.
