America now vs America before, our father's generation would not believe we came to this.

Come on, now. This thread is about the Hamas-Israeli War and the likelihood (or unlikelihood) that it might lead to World War III.

Meanwhile, the war in Gaza continues. Israel did turn the water back on to Gaza after some prodding by the US. A Royal Caribbean cruise ship full of Americans left Haifa for Cyprus. The US is sending a second aircraft carrier, the "Ike" to the region, as a deterrent for the involvement of other Arab nations in this bloody mess.

I was watching the remake of Red Dawn last night and remember wondering how an outside force could simply drop in without a single shot being fired from the civilians?
It was then that a correlation between a fictitious movie and real life hit.

Basically, if we look at the way Hamas was easily able to take over whole whole towns and take so many people hostage is because the civilians weren’t armed.
Matter of fact, it wasn’t until a couple of days ago that Israeli civilians were allowed to obtain arms and military weapons in order to protect themselves because prior to then, only the Israeli military and police are allowed to have firearms.
Setting aside the missile and rocket attacks, what makes this whole affair even worse is that Hamas leaders knew that Israeli civilians had no way or means in which to defend themselves so when the “terrorist” Hamas army showed up, it was like wolves going in for a mass slaughter of a herd of sheep.

There are soooo many lessons that can be learned from this war and I do hope that our idiot politicians who want to relieve we American citizens of our right to bear arms are paying attention.

A brief history of Gaza's centuries of war

Gaza is a coastal strip of land that lay on ancient trading and maritime routes along the Mediterranean shore.

It has been inhabited for thousands of years and fought over by many - including Egyptian Pharaohs, Babylonians, Philistines, and Alexander the Great who besieged and captured Gaza City, killing the men and enslaving women and children.

Its location near where Asia meets Africa saw it become a thriving trade centre in antiquity, part of the Philistine confederacy of five cities along the coastal plain.

It features prominently in Biblical accounts, including the battles of King David.

In later centuries Romans, Mongols, Crusaders and later Napoleon conquered it. Christianity spread there - a tiny Christian community in Gaza still exists - and 1,400 years ago Islamic armies invaded.

It was part of the Ottoman Empire for most of the period from the 16th century until 1917, when was it taken by British troops during World War I.

"IMO" " you would think by now, there would been a solution to the fighting over there, goes all the way back to King David and they're still fighting over the land.

Iran's Foreign Ministry on Monday said that Hamas is ready to release nearly 200 hostages if Israel stops its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. 4 hours ago

"IMO" It's still going, I hope sanity soon prevails, and the killing stops; before we end up in WW3. It's over for all of us if that happens, I don't remember a time in the past when we had so many incompetent leaders ruling over us at one time. Scary to think about all that can happen, if just one of the crazies pushes the wrong button. :(

Theresa the Bible also tells us to 'watch'. I think it mentions watch 44 times in the New Testament alone.
Although I've forgotten much, I studied both New and Old Testaments for over 50 years now, so much so that it kind of backfired on me at times, sure brought meaning to Solomons wise statement, 'much wisdom brings great sorrow'.
Maybe my study became more of curiosity than salvation.

I understood that the removal of weapons was a fairly recent occurrence. Years ago all Israeli homes were armed, but that began to go away as the government found more and more ways to take the guns away. In the initial assault, it might not have made much difference , as no one seemed to know what was happening at first. I also saw some reports that some of the Palestinians were dressed as Israeli police officers but I have not confirmed that. Once the people knew what was happening, I am certain that guns in the homes would have made a difference. We are probably heading down the same road with regard to guns, but on a much larger scale. I am sure that had Trump not been President for those 4 years, the guns in many states would have been gone from homes.

Oh yeah, I just watched The Russians are Coming but that is a different take :D

It is a popular post now. U.S. Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stating the the Mideast is as stable as it has been in two decades. That was just stated a couple months ago.

Are any of the media talking about the invasion at the Mexican border now? Could this be a diversion?

Diversion or excuse used to keep ignoring it.
Legal immigrants make better citizen's than those who come in as criminals. their first step into the nation is a crime against our sovereignty. In time the cost to America and crimes is no less than braking into our homes and squatting.

It is not only a diversion from the border invasion, but everything else that has been happening, from the Ukraine money laundering, to the SOTH debacle, as well as the Biden impeachment, and Hunter’s charges.
They are managing to still keep on talking about Trumps legal battles, though, and probably would still do that if an asteroid was impacting the earth with an end-of-the-world scenario.

As this administration would say: The asteroid started its journey toward the earth during the Trump administration ergo, the end of the world is Trump’s fault.
