Not really. Our waiter was occupied by a table of young women. :p (He was a young guy.) We were the invisible oldies.

We have an iHop near us that my wife and I frequent. They have a buy one meal, get one free special for seniors every day from 3PM-6PM. The only catch is that each person has to buy a drink. Still a good deal..

That's a good deal. My local IHOP has a 10% daily Seniors discount and I think 1/3 off on Wednesdays after 3PM (meaning it does not apply during breakfast & lunch rushes.) When I help my neighbors with yard work or tilling their garden, that's where they take me to buy dinner.

I think Cracker Barrell is vastly overrated. The food I have had there is only so so and costs way too much. Bu their parking lot is always full when you go by there so a lot of people must not agree with me.

Agreed on all counts. There has never been one near me, but when I happen to be in the vicinity, I'm never tempted to go in.

I guess all that matters is good marketing.

It's not fine dining, which is okay because I probably wouldn't like fine dining, but I've been happy with Cracker Barrel whenever I go. That's not often because we only have one in Maine, and that's in South Portland. However, when we travel by car, we often look for a Cracker Barrel. Both the prices and food aren't bad at all.

I believe there are at least 5 Cracker Barrels in the Houston area, all within 25 miles of us. One of them is only about 5 miles away. Like Ken, I don't expect a lot from a "family style" restaurant but I like their breakfast foods. I love the country ham and the hashbrown casserole. My husband likes the pancakes with stewed fruit and whipped cream. :D Their coffee could use some help, though.

I don't know where the locations are; usually on the freeways, though. I've never heard of George Floyd Avenue but there is a George Floyd Park.

Yeah, neither a dumb burro or a smart burro is liked. I think it is just anti-burroism. ;):D I am working on being a middle of the road burro, but it seems so non committal.

I ordered Thanksgiving dinner from Cracker Barrel last year for our gathering. I was happy with it, so I ordered from them again this year.

I have been disappointed a few times in my life but never more so than I was with our plates this year. The plate was supposed to have turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, string beans, and sweet potato casserole. There was no cranberry sauce. The dressing was dry and tasteless. The gravy was scant; one plate had less than a tablespoonful. One plate had no dressing only a dab of mashed potatoes. The sweet potato casserole tasted like boiled sweet potatoes, no spices, no sugar, no flavor. The string beans were greasy.
There were no napkins or utensils. I think they were supposed to include rolls but I'm not sure about that.

I paid $16.99 each for the plates for a total of more than $140 including tips.

Needless to say, I won't be buying Thanksgiving plates from Cracker Barrel again.

That is too bad. I would send them a note telling them so.
