You go, Ken's wife! :D @Ken Anderson @Michelle Anderson I will skimp on a lot of things if I need to, but once I started using those Tide pods, I never went back to liquid. (I'd not used the powder since... probably the early 90s.)

    Laundry is women's work, anyhow.

Whoa! I did not hear you say that @Ken Anderson! I know your Moma taught you better than that. Laundry is one of those things that belong to everyone because we all dirty our own clothes, etc. And I know you love Michelle and would definitely do the laundry if she needed that help from you. :)

I actually like the pods in my mature years. I don't have to measure "how much" per load with them...and I am loving that. But they are more expensive so I always try to have a nice money saving coupon to buy those pods with because besides having an inquiring mind...I also have a very frugal one. :D

Well I didn't know that in the full reality...but I figured we were seeing a little of your offbeat humor in that statement of yours. :D

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Let us know when Michelle stops chasing you with a wet noodle and then we'll talk about that statement. :)

Edited... skip that. I see your retraction. She almost caught ya, eh?!

271313776_d81851294a_z.jpg I remember RC cola and peanuts...and dreamsicyles. One of my favorite memories is walking the path through the woods my siblings and I had "paved" to get to the Country store to buy an RC cola and a bag of peanuts to pour into that cola...or a dreamsicyle. That was living life at its best back then!

Nothing like peanuts in a bottle of ice cold Coke on a hot day! :)

Remember in the 60's when you bought gas at service station you also recieved a piece of tableware. A full tank got you a plate, saucer, cup, and bowl. I remember the pattern was of little roses all around the edges of the tableware.

I also remember in the 50's my mom getting green S&H stamps or some call Black Gold.

I remember my parent saving the coupons from their cigarette packs, and get small appliances with them. I remember how proud my grandmother was to get a Singer sewing machine with her cigarette coupons.

I still have a few pieces of my Rogers stainless steel flatware, they were excellent quality. I chose some with a grain of wheat on the side. I'd post of photo here but I still have to load up my photobucket account so I can be up with the rest of you here. Anyway, my husband did a lot of driving in 1964 and got me the whole set before me got married. :) They mean a lot to me.

This was a good thread, and we've had some new members since October, 2015 so I thought I'd bump it to the top again. Some forum administrators don't like that, but we don't mind it here. What things do you remember that children today are wholly unaware of?

I remember when a dollar would buy a loaf of bread, a can of canned milk and some other small item that you could use to eat. I remember my folks panicing when their mortgage rent turned out to be $75 a month vs the $65 that had been said. I remember gas wars with each station having big signs out with and X thru the price. And only having one tv...that you dad decided what we all would watch:(
