Down to 4 F. this morning and up to a foot of snow is predicted for the next 2 days, so we may not see the ground again until March or April if predictions hold true. It was clear last night though.
It was 21 F here this morning, the coldest so far this year. Along with the cold comes low humidity in the house which makes it feel even colder. I consider a humidifier every winter and winter slips by without. At least no snow and some sun which really warms the SW side of the house.
It is about 20 F. here too, but it is snowing pretty hard. We have about 6" of new snow on top of the 8" we already had, so we are into winter now.

Our first 0 F. morning this season. We have over a foot of snow now, so the perennials will be protected. More snow is expected beginning tonight and I think it is supposed to warm a bit. I finally got the snowblower on the tractor on Sunday and took it into the garage to get hooked up. It was frozen down and when I lifted it about 8 inches of soil came up with it. I guess I didn't put it on a palate last spring. I blew out the driveway but the edges are a bit wiggly, for as those of you who have lived in snow country know, sometimes you cannot find the edges of a road or driveway after a big snow, plus the flat light makes it difficult to see the surface of the snow anyway. I may try to fix things a bit today, but it is very passable for my wife's car, which is my major aim.
Wednesday is the beginning of the end! Today will be in the 60's again but cloudy. (I have a flowering crab to sink left and some bulbs, thank goodness it will still be warm enough. Procrastinating can be rewarded!) But it is predicted to snow next Tuesday after a cold snap. (which probably won't end) I keep telling people the first snow comes the WEDNESDAY before Thanksgiving.
Snowing again! I am tired of snow already and winter hasn't even started. Temps are mild--in the upper 20s F. and it didn't snow over night, but it has just started again. Wife got to church fine and I hope she will get home again safely. Transformers exploded overnight, so many are without power, but we still have ours thankfully. People on FB were remarking on the pretty flashing lights in the area overnight only to find that they were losing power with transformers blowing. I don't know the cause; perhaps snow-laden branches contacting power lines.
Well after a week of rain today is a clear blue sky , temp hitting 50F Tomorrow forecast is rain all day.
Woke up to -5 F. and clear skies. It is almost noon now and the temperature has hardly moved. It is bright and sunny though, so that makes it better.
Overcast with occasional rain and light breeze. Very damp, gray, and damped my plan for getting a jump on Christmas outdoor lights.
I believe there has been an Indian summer this past week. Just beautiful. I decided to hang up some Christmas lights in the backyard away from the squirrels which chewed through some of the wiring last year. The last couple of days the temperature has gone through the day from the 30s, 40s, and 50s and sunny.
-20 F. this morning and clear. My truck doors are frozen shut as I haven't used it in a while. You folks can be thankful, but we are leaving tonight for warmer climes too.
Not where I am but how does a desert city deal with a biblical proportion storm when the city is built on sand? Poor camels!
