The biggest joke is that it’s supposed to be a cost of living adjustment. Bidenomics at work.

I received that message too from SSA. You know the cost of living increase is just giving me money to 'help' pay for increase in the cost of living and I still have to make up the difference. Blah, blah, blah.

Bubble burst.. as always The medicare cost also goes up ten dollars. I never get excited about the increases -- it literally means nothing. Also insurance premiums go up, along with a host of other items.

I don't get excited but I'm glad the increases come..I have no insurance premiums. last insurance I had was auto and I had to give up driving in 2017... If I owned a house I'd have insurance premiums but I own very little, just what is in my apt.

Since they are replacing self check-outs with people around here again, I know there will be another increase in prices but that has been happening steadily anyway.

I think it's early for COLA estimates, but I have seen Social Security benefits are on pace for a 2.6% COLA in 2025.

I am certain the COLA didn't come close to meeting the inflation rate. Just compare your grocery bill to the previous two years, not to mention medical costs and utility rates.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced on Oct. 10 that Social Security benefits and supplemental security income (SSI) payments will increase by 2.5% in 2025. The SSA also announced adjustments to the maximum amount of earnings subject to Social Security tax (from $168,600 to $176,100.)

    Wow !
The SSA is prophesying that Trump will win the election and the cost of living will immediately drop over 20% thereby getting a 2.5% increase in SS will almost seem like it’s really a cost of living adjustment.

Meanwhile, in our other fictional story, we have Tonto, cleaverly disguised as a Tee-Pee…….

I believe one of Trump's campaign promises is to do away with income tax on SS benefits. That would really be the most help to seniors. It always chapped me to pay taxes on money that was taken as a tax during my entire working life.
