That happens to us quite a bit.
I had one a few weeks ago that got to my post office and then got sent to Nashville, then to Montgomery and finally came back here.
Yvonne sent a package that got within 20 miles or so toward it’s destination in Washington and then got sent back to Atlanta, turned back around and got to some out of the way state and a week later finally got to where it was supposed to go.

    There is a payback though.
I ordered about a hundred small neodenium magnets that should just thrill the post offices inspection machines.

YES! IT! DOES! Our mail delivery sucks too. We get mail delivered after 9:00 PM a lot of the time, and it is usually delivered to another house.

I'm on the Next Door forum, and the post office up the road in Charlottesville has been broken for several years. Not only do folks get delivery every 7 days or less, the post office has put an end to them coming in to pick it up in person because the volume became overwhelming. Those who receive mail order prescriptions are in a constant state of panic.

My delivery in this rural county is great. I'd be fine if they decide to migrate from an every-day delivery should lack of manpower becomes an issue. It's the nationwide computer tracking system (and to an extent the local delivery systems) that have been overwhelmed by eCommerce.

Today's Status: In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late.
Well, no $hit, $herlock. That being said, I'll survive the trauma.

The year is 1913 and a mother in Ohio decides to mail her 8 month old child to its grandparents. Yes, it really happened but the mail service put the kibosh on that idea knowing that eventually, some kid would get mailed from Cincinnati and by the time it got to it’s destination 30 miles away, it would probably have a southern drawl and be demanding whiskey and grits.

Yes, I think the USPS made the right decision that time.

I never thought of mailing myself to Hawaii. Who in their right mind does that with their kid?

Dunno. I remember being sent on a train when I was around 6 to my grandparents so in 1913, I can almost see the mindset albeit at 8 months old, that baby was probably still nursing so….?

Interesting times. Perhaps we are not making progress.

I have no doubt that it was much safer back then. Nowadays, some of the USPS folks are packin’ heat.

I am undoubtedly the only supporter of the USPS on the forum. We get far better service--and cheaper--from USPS than form either UPS or FedEX. Quite a number of people here won't even deal with online companies who don't offer USPS as a shipping option. Most of the time when UPS is used, they just mail the stuff anyway, so the UPS packages arrive by mail.

Of course, our Amazon "overnight" or "next day" delivery takes a week or more to get here in any case. Certainly there is no "same day" delivery of anything.

Headache, Headache, Headache! Parts of Las Vegas Strip are an absolutely mess with street/freeway construction closures and "trying" to dismantle things from the F1 (Formula 1 Race). Had to drive around part of the Strip area both this last Saturday and Sunday. Wasn't so bad Sunday due to the Raiders game, but numerous streets around the stadium were closed by LVMPD.

But, have to do the same thing this coming Thursday and Friday when we go back up to Vegas for more rodeo Autograph Sessions. Have one at New York-New York, Resorts World and stop by Convention Center again to check out the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show.

Walking out the door is a gamble in Vegas let alone driving in it, around it and through it.

I just looked at pics. I had no idea they had Formula 1 races on the public streets there. I thought only the French did that (any excuse to block traffic, I guess.) I can't imagine how people got to work through that mess.

Funny/Weird thing is, Bobby, we didn't gamble at all. Not one cent. We did see the remnants of a "pit maneuver" LVMPD done on a car they had been chasing. We passed all three of the patrol cars that had penned the dude in against a street curb.
