Some things leave me speechless. How can a governor justify setting these killers loose on the people of his state?

Louisiana’s Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, has pardoned 40 convicted murderers as he nears the end of his term, according to multiple reports.

Edwards’ term ends on Jan. 8, 2024. In his final weeks in office, he has been working on helping his state lose the title of being the World’s Prison Capital, according to the New York Post. He will reportedly release a total of 56 convicts in “separate batches.”

"For as long as I can remember, Louisiana reflexively responded to an increase in crime by putting more people in prison and keeping them there longer," Edwards told local news outlet NOLA.com this month.

"We've never been made safer as a result of that," Edwards added. "There is no data to suggest that an increase in crime here was because of the reforms."

Dems either don't lock these people up in the first place, or they let them out early in order to increase crime. Then they use to as an excuse to pass more gun laws to disarm us.

But they'd lock you up for life for using the wrong pronouns or daring to protest any of their BS.

Much like when Clinton was leaving office, he pardoned several drug dealers......who contributed to his election campaign.
When money is involved, inmates become rehabilitated quickly. That's also why older inmates (like the Manson girls, Bill Cosby & O.J. Simpson) are released early; their costs go up as they age.

...in solitary confinement without counsel or bail hearing. The illegals, however, whose first act in the country in breaking Federal law, get a package of benefits even many legal welfare recipients can't match.

Governor George Ryan (Illinois) commuted the sentences of 167 death row inmates in 2003 so maybe Edwards is trying to beat that.
And, I think it was Newsom who pardoned over a thousand felons back around May or so.

Oh yeah, Governor George Ryan, a RINO, was at one time a convicted felon himself.
