Good grief, that's a long time. Did his dad have a will? The probate part of my MIL's estate is already done; all investments, life insurance, etc. have been distributed. It was all handled by the estate attorney who drew up her will and my husband who is executor. The remaining things are her material possessions and her home that will need to be sold, plus one bank account that my husband has left until all bills (taxes, utilities, lawyer fees) are paid in full before he will close it and distribute remaining money. It has gone smoothly except for the dumbassery, bad behavior, and general greed of family members. I think my sister-in-law asked about life insurance at least 6 times before MIL was buried. Gotta get that money, doncha know??
As far as I know, Texas does not have inheritance tax, and the federal limit for inheritance tax is something like $12 million. We won't have to worry about that!!
So I finally folded and put those clothes away. I'm sulking because my husband pissed me off last night and he is on "The List" right now. Good thing he's gone to his mother's house to meet with the estate sale lady. Our stupid overpriced Comcast cable TV is acting all weird. Pictures on both TVs are pixelating horribly so that they are unwatchable. Strange but if I choose a streaming channel there is no pixelation. I guess I'll have to call for service and pay another ridiculous bill for them to send a technician to get their own service running right. I got the statement for my auto-delivery prescription from ExpressScripts. My Metopropolol Rx went from $8 for 3 months to $34 for 3 months. Yeah Biden... the cost of living hasn't increased at all. I thought this was strange... I got a replacement Visa card in the mail for my old one that is expiring next month. So I went to my Amazon account to update the card on file to show the new expiration date-- and the new date was already there! What? Does Amazon have access to my Chase bankcard account? Sometimes I really hate how much of my information is just "out there" for the taking.
Maybe so, but I have had that card and my Amazon account for many years and this hasn't happened before.
Also always read the 'Changes in your policy' notices. Of course it always seems like the same as before but just a slight change in the wording can mean a big change in their actions to accounts.
I have had this Visa card for many years and this is the first time this has happened. If it's in the Terms of Service then it must have been one of those updates I never read. Here's some info... https://lifehacker.com/heres-why-everyone-already-has-your-new-credit-card-exp-1834814950 Apparently there is a way to 'opt out' but who cares, really? This makes me wonder why they bother with "expiration dates" anyhow.
@Beth Gallagher good point but mainly for those who opt out AND the cost to issue new cards without the expiration dates AND some people do change their minds
I'm gonna figure out how to opt out. I like control. And this benefits no one but the merchants, who already send reminders when the card hits it's expiry date.
John B. you'll still get those reminders they are automatically sent via email or snail mail so you'll have no excuse if you use it after the expiration date. It's called 'covering all basis' for them. Oh and watch out 'cause if you do and it doesn't decline you will be fully responsible for the charge(s) and any fees that may apply. Note: I don't know if that is true I just like picking with you.
