Recently, it was all over the news (but we seem not to have a thread here in the forum) about the Alaskan Airliner that lost the emergency door plug from the airplane when it was in mid-flight, sucking out the seat , cells phones, and a little boy’s shirt; although everyone survived. The plane was just taking off and was able to return to Portland with no mishaps; but this caused the airlines to start looking into why and how this could have even happened. It turned out that when Boeing assembled the plane, they didn’t even put the bolts into the door plug that should have been holding it into the plane. The FAA grounded all of that kind of plane, and the airlines started inspecting planes, and found that their were other planes which had not been assembled or cared for properly, and I am guessing that Boeing will have some lawsuits happening because of this. If this accident had happened when th plane was at flying speed and altitude, the results could have been much worse and lives might have been lost. One of the reasons being discussed for this happening is what is called the DEI initiative, which stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Basically, it means that companies hire people who are unqualified for the position, but have to be included anyway under one of the three parts of the program. Added to this seems to be the quality of people who are running these companies, and they are as ridiculous as some of the people we see running the government and also the military. You can’t see this picture very well because it is a screenshot from a video that shows him crawling around like a dog and then gyrating in his little dress; but this man is the CEO of United Airlines, Scott Kirby. There are other pictures of him cross-dressing , and he has stated that they hire using DEI. Kirby was formerly the CEO of American Airlines, but moved to United a few years ago. How are people going to feel safe riding on an airplane knowing this is the kind of people that are running it ?
Reports of another Boeing plane catching on fire shortly after takeoff last night from Miami. You can see the sparks shooting out of the back of the plane, which was able to turn around and make a safe landing back at the Miami airport. This is the second serious mishap just since we started January of this year, and it is pretty scary ! The other plane that lost the emergency door had only been flying for around 2 months, and it is actually amazing that the door plug stayed in place that long with not even being bolted in to the fuselage of the plane.
Atlas is a cargo airline, and probably only had the crew onboard. The 747 is an old aircraft, and cargo airlines are not as closely watched as the passenger airlines are. I am supposed to fly to Hawaii soon, so I hope no doors fly off at altitude at least. No place to land between here and the islands.
I was reading a New York Times article whining about the abolition of DEI in Texas public schools. Saw this gem in the comments section... (notice the 26 thumbs-down from liberal crybabies).
The recent issue with Alaska Airlines blowing out a door plug has brought airline safety back to the forefront. I was scheduled to fly this week, but with the grounding of 20% of Alaska's aircraft, I decided to change airlines as the status of our flight was in doubt. Many are blaming this issue in DEI hiring practices at Boeing and the company that made the bolts used in the aircraft. With recent videos appearing of the CEO of United Airlines cross-dressing and dancing, and United advertising for people with no flight experience to train as pilots--they want people with a high school diploma or GED as long as they are not White males. The days when military pilots transitioned to the private sector is apparently over, and the era of DEI hiring has arrived. With Biden and Mayor Pete recently stating they were looking for people with psychiatric issues to work at the FAA, your confidence in a flying vacation should be reconsidered perhaps. I have also been following this news, and I posted a screenshot of the United CEO doing his dog thing and dancing around in the frilly dress…… so disgusting ! He was apparently with American Airlines before United, so he probably hired the same kind of DEI people there, too. My grandson is a pilot for Horizon Airlines, but starting in February, he will be working for Alaskan Airlines; so when I read about the emergency door plug coming out because there were no bolts put in to even hold the door in, I was shocked. The good thing is that this has started both Boeing and the airline companies double checking their airplanes, so hopefully, they will find any other ones that have these dangerous problems before worse accidents happen.
I have two SILs who are engineers with Boeing and have been for many years. One of them discovered that Boeing--and all aircraft manufacturers--have no way to determine if all the parts have been put on every plane. His first work was with the &$& with several million parts in every pane built; Mind-boggling! He took it as his primary goal to construct a program to write a program to track every single part into every aircraft. I assume he has continued with all the other commercial aircraft produced. I cannot explain the door plug bolts unless someone logged they had done the job but hadn't No way to track incompetence.
Something tells me something is rotten in the US More than just BIG government, I somehow can't believe this brave guy committed suicide. He blew the whistle on "quality control" I'll call it, at Boeing:
Friends of the Boeing whistleblower have said that he was in no way suicidal, and had said if he died, he did not kill himself. Even though this has apparently been ruled a suicide, they are still investigating his death and have fingerprinted his truck. Nikki Haley is/was on the board of Boeing, so this is not looking good for her, and it seems like every week now we are having some kind of small airplane crash, or some unexpected incident, many of the incidents happen with Boeings airplanes. There was just now another report of a panel coming off of a Boeing 737 plane traveling from San Francisco, and they had to make an emergency landing in Medford Oregon.
