to debate 3 Deep Blue wanna be CA Senators to take Diane Finestein;s senate seat....,... I'll listen to the debate, I'd LOVE to get a huge SHAKE DOWN in CA crime ...
I had never heard of Steve Garvey, but maybe because I know nothing about sports stars, and not much about who is political in California. When I looked him up to see who he even was, I found this article on CNN about him running for the senate seat that was Diane Feinstein. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/10/politics/steve-garvey-california-senate/index.html
I feel that same concern for DJT, he's been so battered that he's aged a lot. I think on Garvey it would be for the last year of Finstein's term, but not sure and too lazy to research.
Garvey is Not a politician and the 3 Dems chewed him up and spit on him.........I don't know what is happening this morning with the debate, I'm sure I'll hear soon. Here is one summary I've seen so far. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/01/23/steve-garvey-ca-senate-debate-punchline-00137143 Wonder what he will do now, admit a defeat and drop out of the race..... So many love the guy for what he's been, but a politician he is not. Good Intentions like many of us have.
Sounds like he's not much of a candidate, and being a baseball player doesn't exactly prepare one for a congressional seat. Of course Adam Schiff gives me the dry heaves and makes my skin crawl, so there's that.
When we see young guys here wearing the "LA" baseball cap here, which has become a "trendy" thing, we will tell the them that we know, by watching the Dodgers play from 1973 to 1981, the famous LA Dodger Infield of Steve Garvey, Davy Lopex, Ron Cey and Bill Russell, they get somewhat shocked. We will hear "you go back that far?"
I remember Steve Garvey from back in the day I watched the sorry Atlanta Braves on Ted Turner's TV station. He played for the Dodgers. I used to think he was cute.
..in California, is doing very well I just heard!! I voted Garvey, even though I didn't know a lot about what he has to say. I knew he was running against Adam Schiff and sorry if any of you think that's a crap way to vote, but I did it and I'll do it again if need be. To be rid of Schiff would make my day even better than it is already!! This also has Californians speaking out against the homeless issue, and mentally ill folks not getting the care they need. This is pretty amazing for me to hear as I don't hear a lot of Californians actually speaking out against the same thing here that I'm against!!
Adam Schiff is hoping Steve Garvey will win 2nd place. The November race in California will likely go Democratic in a statewide election. If 2 Democrats win the primary, it will be a much tougher race for Schiff to win. All 3 Democratic candidates are good. If Garvey wins he will be 81 at the end of his 1st term as Senator. Garvey is a moderate Republican. Says he will serve with “common sense compassion” and “work to build consensus.” He said he supports “very stringent background checks” when it comes to guns, implied that he opposes a national abortion ban, and voiced support for continuing aid to Ukraine. Refuses to say if he will vote for Donald Trump. Republicans could have done a lot worse than choosing Garvey.
in that video they talked about Schiff helping Garvey to run for senate (financial donor I think it said) because Schiff wanted someone easy to beat, but I'm not sure I took that exactly right, but if it's true, I thought it was hilarious that Steve Garvey is ahead of Schiff for the moment
