Did anyone watch "Holmes on Homes", the Canadian TV reality show starring Mike Holmes? He is contractor whose claim to fame is home renovation work, which was featured in this program as he and his crew rescued homeowners victimized by shoddy contractors. I used to watch occasionally; he seemed to have an excellent reputation and work ethic. This has recently come to light... homes in a housing development promoted by Holmes have been demolished or condemned because of alleged defects. (7 minute video)
My lovely SO watches a lot of HGTV but I don't recall this one. My hearing is too bad to listen to the video, so can you tell me what the problem was with these houses?

He always seemed like such a "genuine" individual. I guess I'm gullible, and apparently a lot of Canadian homeowners are, too. Sad.
