Police Say Mysterious Deaths of 3 Chiefs Fans Remains 'Ongoing Death Investigation' After Toxicology Reports Brian Brant, Wendy Grossman Kantor Mon, February 5, 2024 at 5:18 PM EST·2 min read Early toxicology reports reportedly noted drugs in the bodies of David Harrington, Clayton McGeeney and Ricky Johnson
I was unaware of this. It seems there were several substances in their systems, and they lay in the backyard for 2 days before being discovered. No foul play is suspected. As an aside, over 112,000 Americans died of fentanyl in 2023.
I forgot this was here, and yes they did find out they had drugs in their system. The question on the families and investigators mind is why the man of the house aka 'the chemist' lived and they all died. Plus, he slept for 2 days while they laid in his yard dead with their vehicles in the man's driveway. He just wakes up checks himself into rehab.
I read that they lay there dead for 2 days, but didn't know there was actually someone at home the whole time. Sounds like the chemist thinks he can seek sanctuary in rehab. I bet he supplied the drugs. But adult men make adult choices.
They all knew each other since high school including the one some referred to as 'chemist' I think he was a chemist. working on some kind of disease but I forgot which one. This is true about it being their choice, but did the man add something new and not tell anyone they were being experimented with? It is a weird story. They are hoping to find a way to unlock their cell phones now, seems to be a hard job?
John, also one of the men made it to the back porch, he was a big man and tall 6'3 and 300lbs. One time they mentioned, looked like they were dragged to the back yard but then it never came up again.
iPhones are tough to break in to if they are password protected. There was a big thing not that long ago where the FBI needed an iPhone unlocked for an investigation, and Apple said "Bring us a court order and we'll unlock it." The FBI said "Give us the technology so we can do it whenever we want." Apple gave the FBI the middle finger, and prevailed in court. I looked at a couple of short articles and didn't see that backstory. What a mess people make of their lives.
The story from their family is they weren't known to do any drugs, but then that can change, so it is still a mystery.
Also, the temp was only 30 F that night so doctor says they didn't freeze to death, but they could have died from hyperthermia if they laid in the low temp long enough.
I just read a more recent article. Autopsy results are still suppressed, and the parents of these adult men are [perhaps understandably] in denial that "My baby is not an addict." User, addict, recreational, whatever. They are on the hunt for someone to blame. I guess I might be, too. The "chemist" is actually a scientist who works remotely for a New York hospital. There is speculation that the fentanyl may have contributed to the hypothermia, if the cold was a contributing factor (I just read that hypothermia can occur in temps above 40°, if you got wet, such as from sweat.)
The article said that there was no evidence to warrant interrogating anyone. So it doesn't would like they were poisoned. Th medical examiner might be able to take hair samples and see if there's a trail of drug use, but their hair is not all that long.
