Does that count for this thread? Front row seat at his concert in Milwaukee in 1974.

That definitely counts, at least as far as having probably been closer to him than most of us have been. I had a chance to go to an Elvis concert when i was a teenager, and didn’t go, have wished all my life that I had gone.

My sister-in-law is an Elvis die-hard fan. She would love to hear that story, Jan.

I slept in the suite he had slept in in a hotel in Jacksonville.. I can only assume the mattress had been changed out by then.

Perhaps I sat on the same toilet and showered in the same bathtub....LOL.

I'm not sure when he was there. I assume he wasn't that big of a celebrity at the time because the hotel wasn't exactly the Ritz Carleton....

We have two DVD concerts of Elvis. One was when he was in Hawaii and the other, after his death when his back-up singers and original back-up band were on stage and he was on a big-screen in the back of the stage.

I had some Elvis stamps. I can still taste the Brylcreem...

But seriously, 1974 must have been one of his last concerts. How was the show?

Well, I can remember he wore his white jumpsuit and was rather thin. It must have been great. It was Elvis, after all!

I remember there was a notice in the paper about the concert and that day I ordered tickets. I was thrilled to see I got the front row. I bought a lace handkerchief, soaked it in perfume (I’m surprised he didn’t pass out, the smell was so strong.)
During the concert, I remember approaching the stage and one of his bodyguards was going to stop me, but Elvis said, “Let her come.” I gave him the handkerchief, he wiped his forehead and gave it back then he kissed me!
    The End
Oh, I forgot, my Dad had friends in the sheriff’s department and they told me where his jet, the Lisa Marie, was. A friend and I went over. We couldn’t get on his plane, but we got to tour Colonel Parker’s jet. We also found out what hotel Elvis was staying in, but never got further than the lobby.

I think I remember it so well because there were a lot of major events in my life around then. My Mom had died just a few months earlier, I graduated high school, and went into the Marines.

Now that would be a memory, even though I think I was still below the age of being a real fan of Elvis's, I guess I started out with The Beatles when I got to stay up later and watch Ed Sullivan.

But, wait ;), when I got to stay with my older brother and his wife, I got to use a tiny record player and my fave record was "Return to Sender". I pretty much wore that out :D I also love his movies, all of them! My fave one of all was "Kid Galahad" I watched it recently in fact :)

I never had the desire, 'pun intended' to be with any celebrity. They don't even know your there.
I was called up on stage at Atlanta's Electric Ballroom when I ask for autograph from B.B. King in early 70s ,he was a gentleman. Club ins Atlanta was closing, and limo pulled up with The Winter Brother, a few of us sat around with them and talked. One of them really did have pink eyes and very light skin. He was also a nice guy.
Never was a groupie though. But I had a friend whose sisters were very attractive groupies and they hung out with Elvis and his cohorts, Sonny and Jack. I hear they did more than kiss though. The oldest one looked like Raqual Welch, very good-looking woman,

I'm the same way. I do not get "star struck."

And I remember Edgar Winter. He's one of the few truly white men.

Elvis couldn't act. But they made millions of dollars from his movies. Just because he was "Elvis."
