Never had any problems like going bald but had others instead. The only thing I frequently use is a tiny bit of styling mousse just to fix my forelock because I can't stand a strand on my forehead. Wax would be way too strong, though. That's for youngsters with their faux hawks.
While in the service had a helluva night out. Next morning went to brush my teeth and reached for the Colgate but grabbed the Brylcream instead. You know the rest.
Papa who'd been born in the 1910s, wore Brylcreem for years. I'd made myself a promise that by the time I'd reach 16 I would talk him out of it. Three female relatives made our lives a nightmare in the 60s and 70s, as they were hairspray MAD. Papa and I suffered allergic asthma for years due to that stuff. I only sparingly use "Dry Shampoo" occasionally. I treat my hair with lots of natural remedies. I rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar about once a month to cut the oily hair problems. I use honey to strengthen and calm my eczema and psoriasis on my head. Finally, I use either coconut milk or rice milk to grow my hair after a disastrous pandemic year trying to lighten my colour. I'm getting there .
How do you use the coconut milk for your hair, @Caitlin D Burnside ? Are you drinking it, putting it on your hair like a rinse , or just a bit massaged into your hair sometimes ? What is it supposed to do to help hair grow ? Please elaborate…..
My older sisters used Aqua Net. I didn't mind, because we used to incinerate our trash in big barrels. You just had to keep a respectful distance when there were hair spray cans in it.
Remember "antimacassars", those little doilies that the ladies used to put on the back of sofas and chairs? They were called that because macassar oil was a common ingredient in hair tonics and if the gentlemen rested their heads against the back of upholstered chairs and sofas, they would stain the furniture. Thus "anti-macassars".
