When you find out, that due to internal bickering and jealousy, the simple request you've made to have someone in the group getting in touch with you urgently via email or phone and 6 months later, nothing! Why? Because they don't like the person. Oh for crying out loud!!! Fuming
When there is a complication in life so crazy that you can't even believe it, then even that gets topped again.
Monday morning frustrations... When you call a place to exchange what you've lived through, hopefully with someone who's gone through the same and to hear them say, "It wasn't your fault, it was they're neuro divergent brain that made them react that way..." Which would make ne feel better about myself and accepting more what I went through... First phone call... "Sorry but we no longer accepting incoming calls..." Argh, hanging up Second phone call... "Our phone lines for advice are open from 10am to 4pm.... From Tuesday to Friday..." Argh hanging up as it's freaking Monday... Third call... "Sorry but you need to be registered with a doctor before they can refer you to help!" Effing bugging waste of TIME !!!!! Sorry a wee bit P I S S E D O F F
A friend just called and asked how I'm feeling.... And I said "generally pisssssed off at the World. I listen to 2 conservative radio stations daily aND EVERYTHING IN CALIF IS TERRIBLE, BUT THE GOOD OLE SUN when it's out....AND THE WORLD TOO. With all the new rains, homes and roads are falling down and roads opening up and mud sliding.... This Tower in downtown LA sits empty -- https://www.businessinsider.com/abandoned-chinese-office-complex-los-angeles-oceanwide-plaza-2024-2
The damages from the recent rains were incredible. Never saw anything like it. We seem to be losing our shoreline. And the empty graffiti filled tower in downtown LA has turned into a tourist attraction. Only in California.
We in the great northeast long for what we perceive as great California and Florida weather in the winter, but apparently that is not always the case. Your suffering mends my heart.
Our apt bldg in SAnta Monica is over 70 yrs old and I heard today a 2nd floor tenant's bathroom ceiling collapsed, water accumulated in the flat roof bldg and pow the ceailing collapsed....she was not home.
Since covid our town is not the desirable town for wealthy to buy apt bldgs for tear down and rebulds, the changes of our once great beach town is TOO TOO Dramatic. The owners and their heirs need to make major Mind Adjustments.....
I cannot express how angry and upset i am with the lack of medical and dental in this state. First dentist told us he needed tooth filled- we did that, and a good teeth cleaning. He failed to mention until weeks later it would be August before it could be done. Knowing he needs an actual periodontal dentist, tried to find one,and thought I had. So we traveled and hour away to a full fledged dental office. Turns out they do some perio work but not any actual perio dentists. Took x-rays of his mouth, did the 3 d view thing - even took actual pictures inside of his mouth. He has three very loose teeth on bottom in the front. Well he has and infection so got a Rx for that. Dentist proceeds to tell us, too ,ch bone loss, dentures probably will not work, so we were shown an estiamte of 10 teeth for dental implants. $26,000.00! $52,000 for full mouth. Okay outrageous in price, no can do, so just a good cleaning. Wrong, according to this dentist, total waste of time, to clean his teeth. WTH ? Right then i knew not a place i want to be. What dentist tells a person that- ? In shock, angry because so far we have spent $450 total between 2 dentist and have accomplished nothing. So, only recourse is to travel 3 hours away one way, for a actual perio dentist and spend more money, time and paperwork- for what at this point? If I had the money, I would leave everything behind an go back to Texas. I have already decided it he goes before me, I will sell EVERYTHING we own, except the truck and head back to Texas to die! Sorry I am still beyond dis belief with this state and their lack of medical people.
I think what you have experienced is common in rural America. Skilled professionals don't choose to live where they can't make a living. That is true here, too, but we have incentives to attract some folks to the state.
This issue is a real factor when people are deciding where to live...especially folks our age. I got lucky when I ended up where I am...Charlottesville (UVA) is 30 miles away, the west burbs of Richmond are 40 miles away, and I have an ER 20 miles away. My GP had a local practice 10 miles away that got absorbed by UVA. The politics in Virginia have taken a nasty turn, but I'm not willing to relocate with some of the issues (especially urological) I've been having.
