I'm not convinced about this or concerned about it. As far as I can tell a person's religion isn't really part of it at all aside from specific targeting here and here. I just don't see atheism being promoted over organized religion as part of the agenda, or even a specific religion being elevated over others. I think it's a mistake to project in such a way. Christian homosexuals aren't exactly a rare thing, especially among the clergy but also right down to the streets. Just as many "atheists" oppose abortion as those who claim to do so based on conclusions drawn from religious texts and beliefs. Painting the side of your ox red isn't the same thing as it having been maliciously gored. This sounds like a form of smolletting to me.
My thoughts weren’t necessarily based on Atheism but rather a contextual observation that if a child can be taken away from his or her parents because of an insistence on pronouns, can a difference in religion be as seemingly toxic as the pronouns?
A subordinate reason is for the government to set itself up as the definer of reality, especially when the State's Reality is obviously malarkey.
From Chat GPT The term "woke" originally emerged within African American Vernacular English (AAVE) as a colloquialism meaning to be aware, particularly of social injustices and systemic issues, especially those related to racism and discrimination. In its contemporary usage, "woke" has evolved to describe a state of heightened awareness and consciousness regarding societal issues such as race, gender, sexuality, and other forms of oppression. Being "woke" often implies being actively engaged in social justice movements and advocating for change. However, the term has also been criticized for its overuse or misuse, and some argue that it has been diluted or co-opted for marketing purposes or to signify performative activism. Overall, "woke" signifies an individual or a community's commitment to recognizing and addressing societal inequalities and injustices.
I think it recognizes social inequalities and injustices that aren't there. They find items and make a big thing about them making more people victims incapeable of dealing with the realities of life.
I find more and more medical sites using phraseology such as "birthing person" and "assigned male at birth."
That INFURIATES me. Oh, and today I notice that in the Apple phone contacts, there is a spot for "pronouns." I'm thinking of getting a flip phone; to hell with this.
Why, there sure is! I never noticed there was a spot for "pronouns." Do they still make flip phones? I liked the flipped phones!
That's pretty funny. I just noticed "Pronouns" last night when I was looking to see if I could associate a photo with the Contact (I can't.) Some places still have weird post-COVID hours & I've gotten in the habit of taking a pic of their handwritten signs. edit to correct: I can add a photo to the Contacts. It will be the top banner of the Contact where their picture would go. (duh) Now I see why we used the gender-neutral "You guys."
It is all about further dividing us and causing anger. I think when a person corrects us about using the wrong pronoun we should laugh our heads off at them. Better than an anger response or complying.
